April card kit at Studio Calico...

The Spencer's Card Kit is here!

The first two cards were made with the Spencer's Card Kit, and I had fun with the stamps in the kit. I masked off the light bulb stamp to repeat the sentiment around it. LOVE the wood veneer sayings!

I chose my favorite patterned paper out of the kit to add a little bit of color to the bottom!
This one was super quick - again made with the stamps in the kit. So many things you could do with them.

I used some Papertrey Ink stamping ink colors - True Black, Pure Poppy, Raspberry Fizz and Harvest Gold for the hearts.

The next two cards were made with the card kit add-on, Americano. Loved the colors in this one!

I used a cover plate Circles Die by Papertrey Ink to cut the circles from the light patterned paper in the kit and placed it over the orange paper in the kit for contrast.

This card is made mostly with the Americano kit also, except for the white sticker word, which was from the Scrapbook add-on #2, Daily Grind.

And here are the Daily Grind kit contents.

I loved the canvas flags in this kit and made a card base with the journaling card in the kit.
Aren't these little metal clips adorable too?

I literally have a ton left over and could make cards for weeks with all of these supplies! But alas, we are moving to Colorado in two weeks, so I had to limit my scrappy time this month. Hope you gained a tiny bit of card making inspiration from these. Hugs!

more metallics...

All last week on the Pink Paislee blog, we were discussing using metallics on your projects! Hope you will stop over and see the fun posts. I made a little gift wrap and glassine bag to hold a card.
The Luxe line by Pink Paislee is so much fun!
Also added a bit of Pink Paislee's new Hope Chest line - the cute butterfly clip and the phrase sticker. I also discovered you can cut up those Luxe chipboard Placemats - see the stars? I scored it with my trimmer first to get a straight line and then finished snipping it apart with my scissors. This way you can use it on more than one project! The Placemats are quite large - about 8x8".
These alphas in gold glitter are really pretty. The glitter doesn't rub off and these letters are repositionable, so you can move them around as much as you want with no problem.

I had a piece of the chipboard left from above, and thought it looked like a little balloon, so I used it on the card below. I have been loving the chalkboard trend lately, so I stamped the Think Big Favorites #2 stamp in Fresh Snow ink by Papertrey Ink and embossed it with white powder, then rubbed some ink over the top to create the chalkboard look.
Swing over to the Pink Paislee blog to read more about these two projects!

luxe - urious...

One of the fun new trends I am enjoying is using metallics, they seem to be popping up everywhere these days. Pink Paislee has a gorgeous new line called Luxe and it's just that...luxurious and very high end looking, especially for cards! The metallic is embossed into the paper, so when using this paper, it really looks like stationary you would buy at the store! I made two quick cards the other day...

On the Happy Day card, I trimmed the dot paper down so that the dots were more on the bottom of the card, leaving the top open with white space for a sentiment. I used Pink Paislee's new Luxe Copper Alphas to spell out "day". I LOVE these and they don't get glitter all over you, the glitter is infused into the letter and doesn't come off. They are easy to reposition as well.

I added a "happy" stamp from Papertrey Ink's Think Big Favorites  #12 stamp set. With all of the straight lines from the arrows and such, I thought a curvy script stamp would be a nice addition. To adhere the vellum punched stars, I used Helmar's cute Zap Dots.

On the Wow card, again I used the Luxe chipboard arrows and Luxe star rub ons, Copper Alphas and a "congrats" card from Papertrey Ink's Congrats All Ways stamp set. To complete the card, I simply adhered a strip of Luxe chevron paper onto the top with Helmar's Tape Runner.

Check out all that shimmer! The Luxe line was created as an "accessory" to add to other lines, but I think it looks fabulous all by itself too.

Birds and Blooms...

Birds & Blooms is a limited edition stamp set from Papertrey Ink. Today the team is sharing a few projects made with this beautiful set.

I decided to keep mine pretty simple this time and let the pretty stamps speak for themselves. I stamped the branch in Ripe Avocado ink with little Sweet Blush hearts on the stems. The sentiment was masked off partially (I use washi tape and just tape over the parts I don't want to stamp!), so I could stamp the grateful in red first and then the smaller words in black! Love how the two-toned sentiment looks, and LOVE that font!!

I finished the design off with a pretty resin bloom by Papertrey Ink. And I couldn't resist creating an envelope to go with it, which was made similar to the card, but with a little piece of washi tape on top.

This stamp set will be available for only one year (February 15th, 2013 through February 15th, 2014). It is exclusive for purchase with 24 Rewards Points only, and cannot be purchased with cash. It's available for a year, so you have plenty of time to save up your points and earn this set! Have questions about the Papertrey Ink rewards point system? Today is the day all of the March goodies go up for sale at Papertrey Ink. Do you want to see what's new this month? This first card features the new Rosie Posie Step 2 stamps. It is an addition to Rosie Posie and adds shading over the flowers, which really looks gorgeous! I used the big leafy swirl from Turning a New Leaf.

A doily folded over the top, some twine and a few punched butterflies adds some dimension! The sentiment is from Stylish Sentiments: Birthday.

Birthday Style...

Welcome to another group post today for Papertrey Ink! We are introducing a few new things today, the new Get a Handle On It dies, To You From Me stamp set, and the Birthday Style stamp set.

I made a little felt gift bag with Papertrey Ink felt and the Get a Handle On It dies. It was quick and easy, and I can see myself making all kinds of things with handles, these are really cute. Perfect inexpensive gift wrap for party favors, gift cards or small gifts.

Here's how!
First, I cut a strip of Smokey Shadow felt by Papertrey Ink 10" x 5" and trimmed the ends with pinking shears. Then I folded it in half and stitched up the two sides with my sewing machine, leaving the top open.

Next, I cut a handle with the new Get a Handle On It dies and two coordinating papers. (The stripe is the back of the floral.) Put all of that patterned paper in your stash to work for you! :)

I scored and folded the handle and wrapped it around the felt bag. Don't forget to add your gift inside before added the handle on top. (But yes, you can reopen it later, don't worry.)

The strip of paper was pulled through the center and folded over.

I punched a hole through everything (the bag too) with my Crop-a-dile.

Then I chose a pretty brad...
...and added it to the center in the punched hole. The brad will keep it closed, so the items inside won't fall out. You can take the brad out to reopen the bag.

Now that it's secured closed, and I wanted to add a sentiment to the bag. I used Bountiful Banners stamps and dies to create a little Sweet Blush pink banner. The sentiment and leaves are stamped with the new To You From Me stamp set. (Finished felt bag is 5 x 5".)

Then I wanted to make a card to go with it...

I used the new Birthday Style stamp set and dies. If you make the card less than 5 x 5", it will fit inside the bag with the gift!

To coordinate the card with the gift bag, I used another piece of the stripe, along with some patterned papers by Papertrey Ink (Sweet Blush Pattern Pack and Ripe Avocado Pattern Pack) cut with the Birthday Style dies, Sweet Blush ribbon, a Crate Paper brad and a sentiment from Birthday Style.  All layered on Soft Stone cardstock. LOVE Soft Stone lately! Gray is my new favorite neutral. I have a few rooms in my house painted gray now and just love it.

Hope you enjoyed the how-to. I'll be back tomorrow with all of my release projects for the month. These products I've featured today will be available at www.papertreyink.com on March 15th.

Go see what the other girls made too!
