Snow is glistening...

We finally had snow on Saturday, it was a welcome site as it came down so gently! The girls ran out there in all their gear to enjoy it that afternoon, as they've been wondering when it would arrive. Me, I'm not quite as fond of the snow and cold...it's beautiful, but only if I don't have to go out in it. I'm much more of a warm weather person!

Today was my day to post for the Tattered Angels blog and I was to work with the Frosty Glimmer Kit and to use only what was in the box, unless they were household or vintage items. (I added the pearls, bells, sheet music that I found on-line and little snowballs to the front cover.) All of the chipboard pieces, snowflakes, brads, hinges, mists, sayings, blue paper, stencil and album come in the kit!

First, I misted the entire book with the Denim Blue Glimmer Mist. It's so sparkly in person! The book comes in a creme color, so I changed the pages to blue. After adding the sheet music and saying on the cover, I laid the snowflake screen down onto my book cover. I mixed up some Delta Texture Magic dimensional paint and used an old credit card to smooth it on over the stencil, then lifted the stencil off and let it dry. This gives you a negative print of the snowflake. The paint is pretty thick, almost like a paste. I added a little bit of white paint over the top of the dimensional paint, so it would show up better and some Diamond Dust to make the snowflake shine. (Click on photos to see up close.)
If you don't have dimensional paint, I'm sure gesso or spackling would work just fine. Here is a little tutorial on this dimensional paint technique that I've done in the past. You can use any sort of stencil.
On the inside pages, I just chose some photos taken last Feb. of my girls playing in the snow. I misted the some of the sayings with the Creme De Chocolat Mist from the kit and punched the paper from the kit into circles.
On this page, I did the dimensional paint technique again, then added my photo over the top...
These 2 pages were misted with the Denim Blue over the snowflake stencil. I can't get enough of this snowflake! LOVE it! I also painted the silver snowflake brad that came in the kit white, and added twine to the little hinge from the kit.
This page has a piece of vintage sheet music (the title from the sheet music page). I found this image on-line, cut the title off and tied 2 pieces of twine on before adhering it to the page. The girls were starting to make snow angels when I took this photo. I punched some of the sheet music into circles and sprayed with the Creme De Chocolat Mist from the kit.
I have only begun this album, but am loving how it's turning out. It has so many pages inside, that I could add a ton of pictures. Love that! I hope my girls will cherish this when they get older. Thanks for stopping by,

Winter bliss...

First, an update on the kits, they are sold out! Thanks so much for your interest! Let me know if you are interested in another one, what you are looking for in a kit/class, etc. and I will be happy to put more together in the near future!

Next, I thought I'd post a couple of things that I made last year that never were shared with you all. These were all made with the Tinsel Town line by Pink Paislee for a class.
Joy card:
Snowflake card:
Here is the pattern if you'd like to make the snowflake card.
I added some of the Pixie Stix glitter by Pink Paislee on the edges to give a snowy feel.Present card:
Candy bar wrapper:
Happy Holidays card:
And this last one is an ornament made from one of those little chalkboards you can buy at a craft store. I painted the outside with creme paint, added a "Merry Christmas" rub on and some glitter to the edges (Pixie Stix by Pink Paislee). Then covered the chalkboard part with patterned paper and added some ribbons/buttons, stamps, etc. with a photo of my girls.
I'm busy, busy working on some new projects for Dream Street, Tattered Angels and Pink Paislee. I made something for Melissa Frances the other evening and was so excited to find out that they will be adorning the Melissa Frances booth at CHA with these ~ a bunch of them! Can't wait to show you!! It's torture not being able to share sometimes...ha!

Have a great weekend!

Warm wishes...

Thank you so much for your interest in the Cupid kits/class! I'm so happy with the outcome! I have about 6 kits left right now. If you are interested in one, see the post below. All kits that have been ordered so far have been shipped out! (Except Penny, yours is going out tomorrow!)

Michelle from Ireland...just wanted you to know that I have been trying to return your e-mail, but it keeps coming back to me saying "undeliverable". Do you have another email address I could try?

I made a set of Christmas cards for the Melissa Frances blog the other day, and I really like white lately as a base. It feels so crisp next to the other colors. I'm loving my Cuttlebug and bought a couple of new embossing plates. Even my girls love to play with that thing! Someone had asked me for ideas of simple, quick cards and I think just embossing, adding a pretty ribbon and a sentiment would be perfect for a holiday card.
