Heart - felt...

Just a couple of quick cards to share here, and I'm off to my scrap "desk" to create some more tonight. I haven't had much scrap time this week, so I have lots of assignments started and patiently waiting for my return! :)

Did you know Jenni Bowlin has crepe paper ribbons? They are so cute and come in many colors. Here on this card, I wrapped the journaling card like you would a present and then added a cute button and rub on over the top. Quick and simple!

The second card is all JB products as well! I cut a bingo card and tucked it in the heart. One thing I love about the crepe paper is that you can kind of shape it any way you like!

Well, that's it for me today. I'll be back soon! Enjoy your weekend!
XOXO,
Danielle

Thursday's trend...

Morning! Today I had "Thursday's Trend" on the Pink Paislee blog and decided to do a little tutorial on how to make these ribbon flowers. Stop over to their blog to see, these flowers are very easy to make! I have been seeing a lot of people making their own flowers lately. It's a great way to save money. (And fun too!)

For this page, I combined some of the Bayberry Cottage papers (green die cut and houndstooth) with some of the 365 line (background paper, red swirl paper, ribbon, brad, dark green paper). I had to cut some of the houndstooth letters down since I was out of L's, V's and E's. I used a T for the L, a Y for V, and an 8 for the E.

The photos are of my girls this past summer. They have a crazy sort of sisterly love that cracks me up. :)

Another trend in scrapbooking that I've been seeing a lot lately are titles and journaling done on vellum. I didn't use vellum here, I just printed the big title directly onto my patterned paper, but I think I achieved a similar look. I still have vellum from several years ago! It pays to be a pack rat sometimes. lol

What are some other trends you love right now? I had some other thoughts when doing my page....doilies are hot now, banners, punches, simple/quick pages, handcutting designs out of patterned paper, vintage, stitching....

The February kit at Jenni Bowlin...

...is scrumptious! I loved, loved everything, especially the vintage book paper and the Studio Calico papers/journaling cards. It was fun to work with!

These are a few things that I've made with the kit so far. Please check out the rest of the gallery~ the girls on the team are just A-mazing...

This one is a page about my mom and dad. Everyday I think of them and miss them! *hi mom* I know she reads my blog now. ha They were here visiting in August. I hope some day to move back to the slower, friendlier pace of South Dakota and miss it sooooooo much!

To get the hand-stitched circle on my page, I used a small salad plate, traced with a pencil and then poked holes along the line. Then erased the lines and stitched right along the holes, easy way to get a nicely shaped circle. OH! Check out the Core'dinations cardstock...when you sand the raised portions, you get a cool effect!
I adore the Hambly transparency, so with the leftovers, I made some Valentine cards. I simply folded the transparency and creased the top to create a card. Check out these pretty buttons. They didn't come in the kit, but they are the new Jenni Bowlin buttons and I couldn't wait to use them. :) The second card was attached at the bottom to create a pocket and I added a chipboard heart to the front and a vintage label inside.
Little Red Chair has some pics of my daughter when she was 2! The rub ons were added over the blue cardstock and I had a heck of a time getting a photo of this one, but they are shiny on both sides, it's just the way the light is shining on my page that makes them look different.
Lastly, a pic of my guy. Journaling says, "10 years ago he married me, I feel so blessed that he loves me." I went crazy with my stitching.
I've been scrapping a lot lately. Seems like when I take a long break, it's harder for me to get back into it. How about you? How often do you scrapbook?
Danielle

P.S. I forgot to mention that I got an e-mail from a scrapbooker and it was accidentally deleted before I could read it...if that was you, could you please send it to me again? I'm so sorry!
