To create the roof, I cut little strips of paper with my scalloped scissors, brushed the edges with white paint and then hot glued them on. Added some little pearl trim, a resin flourish made by Melissa Frances and some cute little sparkly bells that I found at Walmart in the Christmas clearance isle for $.25 a pack! Hot gluing is definitely the way to go on a project such as this, I haven't really found anything else that works as well on wood.
