Let's get onto projects! First up is a matchbox gift card holder.
The matchbox die from the kit was used to create the box base from Aqua Mist cardstock and the frame die was used to trim the top piece. It creates slits in the paper for the ribbon to slide through. There is also a die that creates a sleeve for the box, which the joy top is adhered to.

Insert a gift card and tie the ribbon at the top of the box by the bird, and you've got a nice gift card box in a matter of minutes! The little bird from the Trimmings kit is hot glued onto the top.
Next up is an ornament.

The matchbox die was used once again to cut out the box, then I added a paper from the kit inside the box, ribbon from the kit around the edges and two die cut presents with snow! There is a grommet put into the top of the box to hang the tinsel.
The presents even have little die cut tags. The box is backed with a patterned paper frame.
Last, I have two cards to share.

First, the Merry Little Christmas card. This one was trimmed out with the frame die using the patterned paper in the kit. I slipped a piece of the kit paper in through the frame slits, then backed it with the gray snowflake paper. Added some stamped and die cut pieces, a wreath and a bird and added some glitter to the snowy rooftop. Most of the hard work is done for you here with the pretty papers!

The ribbon at the bottom of the card was in the Trimmings kit and is sticky-backed! That made it super easy to attach it to the card. On the Holiday Cheer card, I did the same thing, cut the paper out with the frame, slid the striped paper through. Added some dimensional die cuts and fine glitter for the snow.
Can't wait to make more projects with this kit!

Be sure to check out Betsy, MelissaHeather, and Amy for more All Through the House projects! And grab your kits on Oct. 1st at 10pm EST at Papertrey Ink!

Creative Cardmaker: Quick cards in a pinch...

Today is another Creative Cardmaker post over at The Weekly Scrapper! I'm showing a quick way to create birthday cards in a pinch..."repeat a sentiment". Super easy, and you can die cut the words ahead of time to have on hand. I'm always in a pinch for a birthday card at the last minute, so here's a quick idea.
Stop over to The Weekly Scrapper to read more about these cards. I used the Wet Paint III stamps and dies by Papertrey Ink and several of their cardstocks and clear sequins by Pretty Pink Posh. Have a good day!

Creative Cardmaker: Adding unexpected dimension to cards...

Good morning! I'm up with another Creative Cardmaker post over at Scrapbook Expo's Weekly Scrapper blog. Today I'm talking about adding unexpected dimension to your stamped backgrounds, so break out your stamps and dies, and let's get started!

I've used Papertrey Ink's Quilted Summer stamp set for the flowers and stems, the Scripted stamp set for the sentiment, and the Life Is Beautiful dies to cut out the butterflies. For inks, I've used True Black, New Leaf, Pure Poppy and Aqua Mist.

Head over to the Weekly Scrapper to see the full tutorial!

Link me up if you give this a try. Would love to see how it inspired you.
Have a great day!

Creative Cardmaker: Adding contrast to your backgrounds...

I usually love using white backgrounds on my cards, but with fall arriving here in Colorado, I’ve been in the mood to be different and try some fall colors against a darker background. I love the contrast the darker background gives!

Fall is a great time to mix up your colors and try a few new color palettes! For inspiration, try looking for autumn wedding color combinations on Pinterest; there are so many beautiful pictures to inspire you.
I've used the Big Hugs dies and Vintage Linens stamps and dies by Papertrey Ink, as well as the Luxe Gold Adhesive Paper.
Stop over to the Weekly Scrapper blog to read more about these cards and my process, and hopefully be inspired to try a dark background on your next card. See you next week with another Creative Cardmaker post!

Release Day: September...

Tonight is the night all of the new Papertrey Ink dies and stamps will be available for September at 10pm EST at Papertrey Ink! Let me show you a few more items I made with the new sets. First is a set of papers, stamps and dies called Treetops Glisten.

The patterned paper already has the kraft and black trees on it, all I did was stamp the red trees, a sentiment, add some twine and a wooden star. Really quick, and I love how it turned out! These could easily be mass-produced.

STAMPS: Treetops Glisten
INK: Pure Poppy, True Black
PAPER: Treetops Glisten
DIES: Treetops Glisten
OTHER: twine, wooden star.
______

Next are the new Deck the Halls stamps and dies.

The background is a paper from the Treetops Glisten paper pad. I stamped and embossed the saying with Deck the Halls and added the wreath and bow from Deck the Halls as well.

"Healing Wishes" was stamped with Keep It Simple: Surgery. The gray dot frame was stamped with Mat Stack 3 Collection. The flowers were die cut and stamped with Garden Grace.
This is the inside of the card stamped with Tucked In: Get Well stamps.

Nativity Inspiration...

Papertrey Ink has a new nativity stamp set and some dies coming out this month, so today we are previewing the new products. My first project is a very easily mass produced tag that you could use on a package or napkin wrap like I have done here. This tag is cut with the new Minute To Make: Holiday Tags die and stamped with Petite Places: Nativity.

A bit of garland is wrapped around the napkin, and I made a sugar coated candy cane (with pipe cleaners and fine glitter). I might use real ones for my dinner table, but these are pretty cute too. :)

O Holy Night tag:
STAMPS: Petite Places: Nativity
INK: True Black, Pure Poppy

PAPER: White cardstock, red plaid - Simple Stories' Summer Fresh

DIES: Minute To Make Holiday Tags
OTHER: pipe cleaners, fine glitter, jingle bell, garland - craft supply, tinsel - Melissa Frances.
______

Here is a card with Petite Places: Nativity. I'm not going to lie...I have a hard time knowing what colors to use with the nativity set. So this one is a little unconventional. Papers are from the Nostalgic Notions kit. I can't wait to see what everyone else did with this set.

The steeple is cut from a new die called Petite Ornament: Square. I just used the front of it, not the whole die, backed it with more Nostalgic Notions paper and then added some pieces from Petite Places: Nativity dies.

O Holy Night card:
STAMPS: Petite Places: Nativity
INK: Enchanted Evening, Summer Sunrise
PAPER: White cardstock, Nostalgic Notions paper
DIES: Petite Ornament: Square, Petite Places: Nativity
OTHER: twine, sequin - Pretty Pink Posh, chipboard star- Pink Paislee.
______

The next project is a little 3D ornament and a sleeve to tuck it into.
To create the layers on the ornament, I used some new dies called Scene It: Bethlehem, and it's backed with the Scene It: Scalloped Tag Base.
This sleeve is die cut with the Front & Center #1 die and folded in half to create the pocket.

Oh Come Let Us Adore Him ornament and sleeve:
STAMPS: Petite Places: Nativity
INK: Enchanted Evening
PAPER: white, Classic Kraft; Simple Stories - Summer Fresh
DIES: Petite Places: Nativity, Front and Center die
OTHER: Pure Poppy ribbon, chipboard stars - Pink Paislee, gold tape, twine, fine glitter.

That's it for me for today! The nativity products you see here today will be available Sept. 15th at 10pm EST at Papertrey Ink. Here are the other design team members' wonderful blogs...stop by and visit them to see more!

Quick + Easy Holiday Wraps...

We have another group post today for Papertrey Ink today, this time it's all about quick and easy holiday tags, wraps, gift card holders, bags and boxes. All of the new products we share peeks of today will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink on Sept. 15th at 10pm EST.

First up are the Minute To Make: Holiday Tags 1 stamps and Minute To Make Holiday Tags die. I love these! They are really quick and easy to make a ton of tags in no time!

I've found a couple of cute, inexpensive gift card boxes at Target to match my tags. I think you can get them at Walmart even cheaper (for $1) when the holiday boxes and gift wrappings come out. The tags are super quick and easy.

Joy & Peace Tags:
STAMPS: Minute to Make: Holiday Tags 1
INK: Pure Poppy, Tropical Teal, Simply Chartreuse
PAPER: new tag cardstock
DIES: Minute to Make: Holiday Tags dies
OTHER: seam binding.
______

Next up are the new Ribbon Sliders stamps, dies and papers. These are ones I cut out of the patterned paper pack.
This is a gift box from Target that had the dots already printed on it, but I wanted to dress up the top with some stamping with the arrow from Ribbon Sliders and added a preprinted slider that I cut out with the dies.  Quick, right?!

The box had pre-cut holes for the ribbon, which was perfect, but you could make your own by using a paper piercer to punch holes in the sides of a box for the ribbon to tie your ribbon slider on.

A Little Something Gift Box:
STAMPS: Ribbon Sliders
INK: Fresh Snow
PAPER: Ribbon Sliders
DIES: Ribbon Sliders
OTHER: gift box - Target, white embossing powder.
______

Next is Christmas Tree Change Up stamps and dies.

Mine is a little bit different. It's not a box. I created a wrap instead and added a cellophane bag in the middle full of mints. The front and back are stapled at the top with the bag stapled right in between, then the twine is added and a star to cover the staple.

 Merry Christmas Treat Wrap:
STAMPS: Christmas Tree Change Up
INK: Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, Pure Poppy, Sweet Blush
PAPER: white
DIES: Christmas Tree Change Up Box
OTHER: twine, sequins, cellophane bag, mints.
______

Last are the new In the Bag stamps and dies. I didn't do a holiday project this time.

The In the Bag stamps and dies make a cute little bag to add to the front of a card to slide a gift card into. (I totally forgot to add a gift card before taking my photos, sorry about that!)
Thanks card:
STAMPS: In the Bag, Vintage Linens
INK: Simply Chartreuse, Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, True Black by PTI; Soft Granite by Hero Arts
PAPER: Mood Mix collection from Stamp-a-Faire2015
DIES: In the Bag
OTHER: twine, enamel dot.

All of the new products you see here today will be available Sept. 15th at 10pm EST at Papertrey Ink. Here are the other design team members' wonderful blogs...stop by and visit them to see more!

Introducing Make It Market Mini Kit: Holiday Folk...

Welcome back to another Papertrey Ink group blog post. Today we are showing you Betsy's new Make It Market Mini Kit: Holiday Folk.
My first two cards were super simple. I die cut a few pieces to layer over the top of these pre-printed cards. Love adding a tiny bit of dimension.

These cute wooden stars come in the kit too! As you can see, the foam tape offers just a slight bit of dimension.

Joyful and All is Calm cards:
STAMPS: none
INK: none
PAPER: Make It Market Mini Kit: Holiday Folk
DIES: Make It Market Mini Kit: Holiday Folk dies
OTHER: wooden stars - Make It Market Mini Kit: Holiday Folk

Next is a card that's a bit more involved. I stamped and die cut the red bird and the garland and added them to some of the mini kit patterned papers.

The seam binding was dyed with Tropical Teal ink and a sentiment from the kit stamped in black.
