They sent me the Modern Homemaker line awhile back and I had fun reflecting on being a stay-at-home mom and what it means to me. I never thought in a million years I would be a SAHM. Truly. I was always taught to be a career woman, and I actually went to 6 years of college and received 2 degrees. Becoming a mom changed my whole perspective, and now I can't imagine it any other way! So this little mini album is dedicated to how much it means to me to be here for my girls and also my daily routine of being a homemaker!
I had this old chipboard book in my stash with tabs (I think it was made by Scenic Route?), so I used the chipboard iron, rolling pin and ball of yarn on the tabs.
When my grandfather passed away, my grandmother had all of his jeans made into a quilt. And I loved the idea so much, I made one for our home with our own jeans. It's so heavy, warm and comfy.
And because I couldn't stop using hearts the day I made all of these...LOL...a fun little tag-shaped Valentine's card! I stitched a little heart banner, added lots of polkies....

I have a pile of my baby daughter's dresses on the bed (the ones she's got too big for), wondering whether to cut them up to make a start on a quilt for her, but feeling guilty, that I could send them to charity and someone else could actually use them as dresses. They've been there for about a week now, just waiting for me to make the decision!

LOve all of your projects Dani but that mini about being a SAHM REALLY speaks to me...my journey has been similar...I have my degree in Early Childhood Education and I never thought I would stay home and only apply it to my own children but I am SOOO happy and blessed that this is the path that I am on. What I once thought would be a year at home has turned into 11 years at home and I couldn't be happier:) So yeah...your mini really spoke to me:)

I too was a stay at home mom. We made many, many sacrifices so I could stay at home to raise our children. We did not have the money for many extras. I cut my hair and my children's. We did not have a cable, air conditioning, garage door opener, new cars (and the cars we did have-air conditioning was broke and the electric windows were also broke), I did Christmas shopping all year long only buying clearance items. My kids are grown and would you belive now they appreciate all the sacrifices made to be raised my mom. I have encouraged them to save
$ now so they don't have to do without as much as we did.
