vintage can be bright and fun!

Good morning! Our week off from school is winding down and we are getting ready to go back tomorrow. It's been a fun break, but I'm ready to get back into our schedule again! With all the snow this week, we are getting a little stir crazy. :)

I have some scrappy things to show you this morning from Vintage Street Market. They sent me 2 of their kits to play with, the Travel Kit and the Party Games Kit! Here are a few things I made so far...
This card is made with a yellow vintage Memo sheet that I cut for the background. I punched a 2" circle from the old book paper and adhered it to the card with the numbers tape, love this tape! The butterflies are punched from the yellow tissue paper and the little postage stamps! (I added the pins and stamping from my stash.) Butterfly punch is Martha Stewart's Royal Butterfly.

On the next card, I used one of the vintage note papers in the background of the card.

Here's a fun technique: to get the little book paper strips, I used the yellow tape and stuck a strip of the tape to the book paper, then peeled it up carefully. The result is the book print sticks to the tape! I made 3 of these added these little strips to my card. On the top strip, you can see I stuck it over a stamp also. I made little flowers from the tissue paper and stamped a sentiment from my stash in black.

I started with the cute pocket and cut some of the 7 Gypsies paper to tuck inside, along with an old playing card. I loved the red that it added. To dress up the front of the pocket, I cut a pattern out from one of the patterned papers and added an old button and checkers piece from the kits! I stamped a sentiment from my stash on the bottom and cut a small piece of the white ribbon to lighten up the bottom of the card.
The red string was cut from the packaging from the Party Games kit!
On the last card I used this old View-master pocket/piece (remember these?!) from the kit and covered it up with an old paper, then added a vintage green playing card, a tag and a butterfly cut from one of the papers over a ticket. I stamped "take care" and "you" with stamps from my stash. On the inside, you can add a sentiment to the center of the round piece that comes with the pocket!

I sure love to see unique things in kits, they are so fun to play with. Thanks for stopping in today!
