Today I wanted to share with you a new stamp set from Papertrey Ink called Modern Basics by Maile Belles.
I will admit when I first saw it, I felt a little intimidated by it! Maybe it was the name, as "modern" doesn't fully describe my scrapbooking style. But...having said that...I sat down and played more with it yesterday and now I'm totally in love! I found out it DOES work with my style and had so much fun breaking out of my norm a tiny bit! :)
The first card is a Dad card. My dad is turning 60 in a few days!! I used the Background Basics: Newsprint set in the background with a slightly lighter blue ink.
A little splash of pink and coral here on this one. The zig zags are from the Button Boutique from last month! Was too lazy to get my sewing machine out. :) Hearts are from the Tiny Tags set.
This one is the similar to the last one, just wanted to try it in some different colors...
If you've done a lot of work on your card like I did here on these cherries, and you are afraid to stamp right on your card, stamp on another piece of paper and cut the little leaves out! I created my own little border on the bottom with one of the polkadot leaf stamps. "You make life sweeter" is from an older set called Cupcake Collection.
More little button flowers...
Here I used the little leaves as a background with a plethora of buttons! The other stamps are from Button Boutique.
Last, I made some butterflies on this quirky little card. Super simple, you could make a bunch of these in no time.
Before I go, I wanted to show you how I keep track of my Papertrey Ink stamping ink colors. I was forever pulling them all out, trying all the colors before deciding which color I wanted to use. I decided to stamp them all on a piece of paper, so at a quick glance, I can choose a color quickly! (There is a mistake here, the green one's not Enchanted Evening, it's Ripe Avocado. I had the wrong lid on it!)
This has saved me a lot of time and keeps me organized. Looking back at all of these cards....wow, I have a thing for buttons, don't I! hee. Thank you for visiting my blog today!

Sheesh! Danielle, I'm trying very hard to resist this set, and you're not making it very easy here lol ;) LOVE every single one of these, and how you've shown that this set doesn't have to be just "modern", wow, who knew?!!!
tus trabajos son hermosos, me encanta visitarte... cariños.
You really have made these stamps work in your style - loving the dad card too. Perfection!
Wow those stamps are really versatile!
These are great Dani!
Love all these cards. Truly genius. I'm so glad I ordered this set at release. Also, love your ink organizing idea. I have an index binder with all my punches, dies, birthday cakes and owls, and this will get its own section.
Totally love all your cards Danielle - you rocked this set!
Your cherries card is super cute, I could almost squeal for it (except it is really late and I might freak the neighbours out if they hear me yelping!)
Hugs, Ruth S
That sat is not my style at all, but I love what you did with the Dad card. Awesome!

These are adorable! The cherry stamp is my personal fave.
Love what you did with this set!! Awesome cards!!! Love the cherry.
And I'm totally going to do what you did with the ink color list.
Oh, happy sigh!!! Your cards are fabulous, Danielle! How fun to see you rocking the PTI stamps. What creative and fun uses you came up with for this stamp set. I just smiled so big to see your butterflies. :)
These cards are fabulous, especially the one with the cherry on it! Have a great weekend, Janna
I love the you make life sweeter card with that gingham ribbon...need to find some of that. Looks like you've got Ripe Avocado down as Enchanted Evening on your stamp color list...Enchanted Evening is a dark blue and Ripe Avocado is that olive green you've got there.
I am loving each of your sweet cards! Makes me want to break out all my stamps! =)
wow! suuuper!
