Halloween Treats & Sweets...

Yes, Halloween is coming soon! I don't know about you, but I just love Halloween. My older daughter's birthday is two days after, so we have a lot of excitement around that time of year! We are focusing on Papertrey Ink's new Halloween Treats & Sweets stamp set and new Halloween dies to go with it today...
My assignment this time around was to make something with a skeleton. It's hard to make a skeleton look shabby, ha, so I went with a clean, fun design this time. When playing around with everything, I discovered that when you turn the new Favor It 6 Box die upside down, it looks very much like a skeleton head!

I cut two of the box dies with white cardstock and put them together to form the head. I also did an orange one for his mouth to add a little bit of color and fun to his face. I cut my own little speech bubble and used the new Treats & Sweets stamp set for "happy fright night". The eyes are made from the cat ears die! I placed them on his face a little funky to make him fun. Didn't want him to be TOO scary! :)
Next, I made the body, which is actually just a package of buttons that I bought from Papertrey Ink, like the Spring Mix buttons here. I emptied out the buttons and filled it with lollipops! I used the Summer Sunrise Saddle Stitched ribbon 5/8" by Papertrey Ink around the top of the container.

Then I cut some "ribs" to put on the front of the container with the new Mega Halloween Treats & Sweets dies. I think they are supposed to be spider legs, but they worked nicely as ribs too!
I put a couple of pencils inside the container to hold up the head. He's VERY dimensional. heee :) :) He makes me laugh when I look at him!
Next, I wanted a card to go with it, so I used the little faces from the new Treats & Sweets stamp set with Fresh Snow ink onto black cardstock, like little eyes peering out at you at night! I embossed them with white embossing powder.

I cut a hole in the front of the card for the faces to show through with the new die called Layerz Mat Stack 1 die. This one is 3 1/2" x 2 1/2", but there is also a larger version of it coming out too that is 3 3/4" x 5".
One more look...

What a neat skeleton project! How clever to use the dies/images this way and the spider legs as ribs ... I'm soooo impressed! :) Your card is neat, too. :)
