mighty oak and latte love...

Hi everyone! As some of you may know, my Papertrey Ink box was lost in the mail last month, and I didn't receive my Papertrey Ink goodies in time to participate with the design team group posts. I was so bummed that I missed out on all the fun - but loved seeing all of the other beautiful projects! I was anxious to get started when a new box arrived at my step! So today I'm sharing a few things made with the last release. You can see all of these new stamps sets and dies HERE on the main page.

My first set of cards (I have three) were all made with the Mighty Oak stamps and dies. I LOVED working with this set! So many amazing things you can do with it!

It's so easy to get this card right because of the die.

All you do is cut one time, and then pop out the leaves and stamp them, then place them back in. I layered the white cut out over a white base. For the sentiment, I inked up the whole stamp with Classic Kraft, then dipped the top of the sentiment in Dark Chocolate to get the 2-toned look.

I used lots of warm tones, but left the tree white to keep it simple. And now after looking at it again, I think this would make a gorgeous holiday card in some soft, cool, wintery colors with a bit of sparkle, don't you think?! Must make more of these!

For my second card, I wanted to try something different with the leaves.

I started by stamping the background in Background Basics: Morocco in True Black and added the Harvest Gold centers. Then I stamped a few leaves with Melon Berry, Simply Chartreuse, Hawaiian Shores and Smokey Shadow inks and placed them in a circle pattern. I chose colors that I thought would go well with the black and yellow. (The Smokey Shadow ones were "stamped off" once to get a lighter gray.)

After all the circles were attached, I tied a piece of seam binding around it and wet the top of the ribbon to crinkle it up. Added a frame that was cut and stamped with Boutique Borders: Sympathy. The pin is by Crate Paper, Maggie Holmes' collection. (Punch a hole and slide it right onto your card.)

The last one was really quick and easy.

I pulled out Melon Berry, Pure Poppy, Simply Chartreuse, Hawaiian Shores and Ocean Mist inks and stamped a few falling leaves. I added some swirls in Soft Stone ink from the Happy Trails stamp set. Then a Mighty Oak tree die cut over the top, trimmed at the edge.

A quick card when you're in a hurry!
--------------

Here are a couple of things made with the new Latte Love stamp set and the Coffee Cozy dies! See Nichole's blog here with a video on how to make the Coffee Cozy. I used Papertrey Ink felt for mine.

It fits right around a Starbucks cup perfectly, and would make a cute little gift! I thought maybe by inserting a gift card into an empty, clean mug and then wrap the cozy around it with a tag, it would be great for a gift for the holidays for that coffee lover in your life.

You can even fold it flat for easy mailing. I cut a Wonderful Words: Holiday die from Classic Kraft felt to attach to the front and stitched up the side with twine, tying it in a bow at the top and adding one of my PaperClay buttons I made here.

And here is a card that could be given along with the Coffee Cozy. This was made with the new Latte Love stamp set. First I used the Autumn Pattern Pieces stamps to stamp the background in Aqua Mist ink. (I thought the diamonds would go well with the design in the last coffee cup!)

Then I stamped the coffee cup stack in white, embossed it with white embossing powder and colored the little cups in with Copics! My first Copics I've purchased...and I really enjoyed coloring the images in with them. Now I know what all the fuss is about - it IS fun!

Please stop back to my blog again in a few days, and I'll try to have more projects finished and posted with the last release goodies! All products listed below are by Papertrey Ink, unless otherwise noted. Have a great one, friends!!
