A luxe card set...

I had some time to play around with some of the new March goodies from Papertrey Ink again today and came up with a little card set using Wet Paint and Polka Dot Basics III stamps using a gold and black color combo. Really like how it turned out!

The cards in my set are pretty much all the same...I stamped and embossed the gold circles first, just a few on top of each card. Then I added a piece of gold tape from the Make It Market Luxe Letterpress kit over the top edge. Last I used all of the big sayings from Wet Paint, one on each card in black. Quick and simple and makes a really great card set for someone special!

Next I made a little note card by adding the gold tape around the edge and just a little bit of stamping in the corner.

The Polka Dot Basics III stamps were stamped in black (the small dots) and also in gold on the coordinating envelope. The leaf is from Embellished Elegance and the sentiment is from Mat Stack 2 Collection. The little seal is cut with the seal die from the Make It Market Letterpress kit, which will be perfect for the outside of my envelope!

The card fronts are popped up on the bases to make them look a little more pronounced. Oh, and you might have noticed that the black dots on the envelopes look a little different than the Polka Dot Basics III? What I did was cut apart the rows of dots. I wanted my rows to be further apart, so I cut my stamp and just stamped one row of dots at a time. (I figured I can always fit the two rows back together on my stamping block if I want to use them as rows really close together again sometime.)

Never thought I'd be into gold again, but it's so luxe and elegant, isn't it? The cards look so pretty all together. I think these would even work for a manly card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Gingerbread Lane...

Welcome to Day 2 of the Papertrey Ink countdown for September! We begin showing previews of new products on the 10th of each month and continue until the 15th when everything is released for the month! If you'd like to see peeks from Day 1, see Nichole's blog for all of the links. There are some great Christmas goodies coming out this month! On the first card, I used the new Gingerbread Lane stamps and dies, and the Loop De Loop border die!
I used the Card Base-ics #1 die to cut the background with Dark Chocolate Patterned Paper, then I just stamped a few of the gingerbread boys and girls with Classic Kraft ink and hearts from the set with Sweet Blush ink.
I added a little 3x3" envelope behind the sentiment for a gift card, which slides in and out.

Next, I filled a Clearly Creative Card Box with handmade cards, decorated with Gingerbread Lane stamps and dies and the Loop De Loop die once again.
The little house die is sweet as can be, and the Loop De Loop die works great as smoke for the chimney!  The felt snowflake is cut with the new Snowflake Medley dies.
Before adhering the finished piece to the top, I tied some twine around the box. (The other ends of the box are the opening ends, so you can still get the cards in and out.)
And I love this sweet sentiment...

Last is a treat bag made out of a glassine bag. I used the banner die from Fabulous Frames and stamped a Gingerbread Lane greeting onto Spring Moss cardstock with Ripe Avocado ink.
To tuck the little banner under the gingerbread girl's arm, I just snipped up into her arm a bit with scissors and slid the banner under her arm.

6pm EST: Correspondence Badge- Camp Card Set Challenge

Hey, Papertrey Ink fans! I'm back with a little card set to share with you for Stamp-a-Faire. I made some mini cards and housed them in a Nugget Tin. These would surely make a fun gift!

I kept the mini cards very simple, so mass producing would be quick and easy. There are 10 mini cards in here, all different sentiments from the Half & Half stamp set. You need the Half & Half dies also.
I'll show you how!

Step 1: Cut 10 pieces from white cardstock with the pointed die from the Half & Half Die Collection. You can use one of the other Half & Half dies also if you wish!
Step 2: Score them and fold in half.
Step 3: Stamp with the Half & Half stamp set with Sweet Blush ink (the long tag patterns).
Step 4: Add a sentiment with Pure Poppy ink using the Half & Half stamps. I made 2 cards with each sentiment, since there were 5 sentiments in the stamp set.
Step 5: Die cut 10 Aqua Mist felt keys with the Lock & Key Die Collection. Tie around each mini card with Rustic Just Button Twine. If you don't have the key, you could add a button or a little flower instead.
Step 6: Pack them up in the nugget tin with some white envelopes. I used these 4 1/4" x 2 1/2" envelopes.
Step 7: To decorate the top of the nugget tin, I wrapped some Aqua Mist Satin ribbon around and tied it in a bow. Then to make the bow extra fluffy, I tied another bow and used a glue dot to add it over the top of the other bow! I made a little rose with a strip of Pure Poppy felt. I added a strip of red patterned paper from the Pure Poppy Pattern Pack and a strip of Pure Poppy felt.

I really like how everything just peeks through the top of the tin!

Well, I can't wait to see your version of this little card set. Please link me up to your project, I'd love to see your take on it!

On the Farm.

Today the Papertrey Ink team is having a blog hop to show a new stamp set called "On the Farm", coming out on the 15th.
First, I made a set of cards to send to my grandmother. She loves roosters, so I thought of her as I was making this! I wanted to use all of the different sentiments in the set, so I kept the basic design the same throughout, just changed the sentiment and animal on each one. This way, I was able to stamp them all in "assembly line" fashion. The cards are packaged in one of Papertrey Ink's Clear Card Boxes.
I wrapped a piece of Fine Linen Patterned Paper around the box and decorated it with the Background Basics: Farm and Barn (chicken wire) and the On the Farm Stamp set. A few kraft buttons were threaded with twine and wrapped around the box.

On each card, I began with the Crackled stamp with Fine Linen ink. I stamped the check pattern in Pure Poppy, a sentiment in True Black and an animal in Classic Kraft and last, a little circle stamp. Then I trimmed this piece down and added it to a white cardstock base. I stamped 2 of the check patterns with Soft Stone ink on the top and bottom. The Soft Stone is gorgeous in real life, but hard to get a good photo of it! Added a Kraft button to the top for a bit of dimension and to add a rustic feel.
I kept this design the same throughout the cards, yet used all of the different sentiments to make a variety of occasions. She's going to love these!

Next, I used the Shape Up Series: Barn die and the Simple Stripes Impression Plate to make a little birthday card for a child. My daughter would have loved this when she was little, as she loves horses!
Inside the little doors is a felt horse cut with the On the Farm dies. On the front of the barn, I machine stitched around the edges and added white strips of paper around the barn door to help the door stand out a bit. The saying says, "Herd it's your Birthday!". The card base is made with the Barn die also, with new Fine Linen patterned paper.
And if you are still with me, I have one more card made with the new Chicken Wire Impression Plate...
How cute is that chicken wire background!
Thanks for reading today and be sure to grab these fun products on the 15th at www.papertreyink.com. Now hop on over to the rest of the team's blogs to see what they've done with these items!
