H*2*Woah!

The sun is finally settling into our area, it's been a long rainy summer. I keep saying I think the seasons are shifting! Seems like spring didn't arrive until June or so and now it finally feels like summer here. Good thing the kids don't go back to school until Sept. 10th, so we still have time to enjoy it!

I was asked to be the guest designer for August for a Japanese sketch blog called Scrap in Japan. So this is what I came up with! Photos are of my little Kati 2 years ago when we went to the ocean. I love her expressions, they still crack me up! Photos like this really grab me... and I love to scrap them because they remind me of the moment, the sites, sounds and feelings of being at the ocean.
I drew the water splashes lightly with a pencil and then stitched over them with embroidery floss. I wanted to carry the theme throughout the page, so in Photoshop I created a new document, made it pink and then added the white stars and "woah!"s in the background with the text tool. Then when I printed it out and placed it on my page, I cropped it to the size I needed.
I created the brown strip the same way. After I figured out the dimensions I needed for my journaling, I created a new document, colored it brown in Photoshop and added white text.
This page is made with the new Cupid line of papers and brads by Pink Paislee!

Here is the sketch. Would you like to play along? If so, create a page based on this sketch and link me up in the comments here on my blog. I will choose one random winner for some scrapbooking goodies on Sunday the 9th! Be sure to also leave a link to your creation at the Scrap for Japan site as well!
Can't wait to see your version!

Stamping Sunday

Hello! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! I have a stamping project to share with you today. This is a mini album created with the gorgeous new Amber Road line by Pink Paislee! I used the Paislee Postcards, Punch Outs die cuts, Bella Brads, Amber Road papers and the Amber Road Impressions stamp set that comes with this line!First, I cut the Postcards apart and stacked them together, then punched 2 holes and tied them together with a piece of fabric. (So with one piece of paper, you have your mini album base!) I stamped the border stamp on the ends of the fabric ribbon. StazOn ink works well for this.

On the front cover, I stamped the white flourish image and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The harvest stamp is a fabric covered button and I'd like to show you how I made this...Please visit the Pink Paislee blog to see how to create these fabric covered buttons, the rest of the inside pages, and more stamping ideas inside the mini album. More holiday goodies...

I'm back with more Christmas goodies to show you! Here are some more of the things I created for Creative Cafe and Accucut with their new scrapbooking products coming out at the Craft and Hobby show this week...

This die cut paper that is shaped on the bottom of the Good Stuff page is flocked and is so BEAU-tiful!! I also really adore the white glittered paper with the music notes under the glitter. The glitter doesn't flake at all when you cut it. It was hard to photograph, but I think you can see it a little bit. I used the rub ons right over the glitter paper and stitched some dangling ornaments.
Next, a mini album with photos of us decorating our tree last year. I used the star die cuts to mist over on the front cover. Here are just a few inside peeks. To see the rest of the pages, click HERE.
The red paper below is a new glittery die cut paper by Creative Cafe! The trees and stars are done with new Accucut dies. I love each year when the Santa hat comes out and we take silly pics!
These are pics of Kati when she experienced her first candy cane! She sat off to the side when we were decorating the tree one year and devoured that whole, sticky thing...notice it running down her chin! (sorry about the terrible photo of the page) The Santas are foiled and are shiny.
I've been busy getting my home ready for my parents to come visit! They are coming in 2 weeks and I'm so excited! I haven't seen them for a year. So I told Taylor we could get her a new bedspread for her bed and redo her room. We've been busy rearranging and painting, she has a spiffy new desk and bright, fun colors now! No more pastels. I would take photos, but we are going to surprise grandma when she comes, so we'll have to wait on the photos. ha

Well, I'm off to do more painting. Yesterday I pressure washed the deck and cleaned out the van while the girls went to grandma's to swim for the day. Glad to get that done. Tomorrow I'll try to get the stain put on the deck, it needs it so badly. Waiting for it to stop raining. It's raining today, so we are still in our jammies and have been vegging out. I better get going and get something done! Feeling lazy today! =)

P.S. Someone had asked where I purchased the jingle bell tree. It came from a discount furniture store here called "Huck Finn Warehouse".
