techniques using canvas borders, and more...

I am so excited about the Pink Paislee blog this year. We will have some new topics to share with you, and I think you'll really like the changes! Today was "Product Pick", so I worked with the canvas borders from the Sweetness line.
On the 14 card, I used the canvas borders as a border on a pocket.
The butterfly on this card was an old chipboard butterfly from my stash. I layered 3 pieces of canvas, starting at the bottom. After covering the butterfly, I turned it over and trimmed off the excess. I added a little bit of brown chalk to the edges of the canvas, so you could see the different layers.
Here I gathered the canvas every inch or so to create pleats! It has a sticky back on it, so it stays right where you put it! Kind of looks like a little rainbow here.
The hole is punched with a 2" circle punch and then I added a felt Doodad from the Sweetness line on the inside of the card.
Everything you see on these cards is from the Sweetness line! Love it! Stop over to the Pink Paislee blog to read more! :)

Today I also had a Glue Arts project due and we were given some Girls Paperie to work with! I love, love their papers. This is their "On Holiday" line of papers and stickers. I added some chipboard stars and buttons from my stash. Alphas are Pink Paislee!
I created 2 tags for my page to use this gorgeous yellow paper. Glue Arts makes a great adhesive for embellishments which I used to attach the buttons to the stars...it's called Extreme Adhesive Squares and they are just like Glue Dots, but I think they are even better and stickier. I've always used Glue Dots, but I think these are terrific!
This photo was taken of Kati the day before she started Kindergarten this year. We had a "meet the teacher" night, and I took a few pics of her before we left!

Happy 1-1-11!

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a safe night last night! We stayed home and I'll be honest, I fell asleep right before midnight! hee But I did wake up when I  heard the fireworks! What can I say, I'm getting old. :)

I've been working on lots of projects for the craft and hobby show, which I can't wait to show you! Meanwhile, I will share a few cards made with the Jenni Bowlin January kits...
On this card, I used the embossed cardstock in the kit and painted it with pink paint (it shows up better in real life!). I loved how the yellow flower looked on the pink, so I left it very simple with a Melissa Frances frame and some gems, along with a 7 Gypsies rub on (add-on kit).
This card was made mostly with the main kit, which I adore....LOVE all of the florals and pretty accents this month! I am in love with the floral paper here. I added some yellow paint to the pull out tag on the pocket and a 7 Gypsies rub on over the top after it was dry. It added some nice color. I adore the canvas tags too! Be sure to stop over and see how everyone used the canvas tags in the gallery!

The squares on the next card made me want to cut some of them out and create a window for my card. I punched a 2" circle and hung it in the window. If your cutting isn't exactly straight on the window, that's ok - just cover up the edges with another piece of paper (don't forget to cover the insides of the window as well).

fascinating felt...

I can finally share this card that I made for Paper Crafts Magazine awhile back that is published in their newest issue "Color Inspiration"! I had fun using felt on this one for my background!

I'm way addicted to making my own felt pieces now for projects. I just cut a piece of brown felt from the craft store with my pinking shears, then layered a Pink Paislee Artisan Element over the top with a Jenni Bowlin butterfly sticker and pins. The canvas heart stickers are from Pink Paislee also. The sentiment is printed on the cardstock with the computer.

Something about the texture of felt that I love! Check out these other fun felt projects I found to share with you! Some sweet felted owls from Only Muttix.
A pair of felted baby shoes from Old School Acres.
Adorable pillows from PB Teen.

More pillows by the Purl Bee.
Some pencil toppers by Whimsy-Girl.
ABC pillow from the Lemon Drop Tree.
Love this fun table runner made of felt and these gorgeous pillows by Nordstroms.
And last but not least, how about this adorable felt robot from Craftster.org!?
SOOO many great ideas there. I don't know about you, but these projects make me want to RUN to my scrap room right now and make something fun! :)
