Park play...

Last week Taylor had soccer camp, so we had to get up early each morning and get her to camp. She had a good time and this was her first soccer experience! Her coach was my niece's 6th grade teacher this past year! My niece had signed up for it too, but she hurt her ankle on the first day and was out for the week. I was surprised that they had every age from first grade all the way up to 6th grade and they all worked on their skills together.

This week we are getting ready for our trip to Hampton Beach! I'm excited for a much needed vacation. I just hope the weather holds out for us. It's been raining SO much here...actually at least a little bit every day. It's going to be a rainy summer. I'm kind of bummed that I'm going to miss all the CHA sneaks and fun going on that week though! I'll have a lot of catching up to do when I get back and lots to show you.

Today I can share a page that I did for Dream Street this month with the MJ line of papers and rub ons by Lara Ellingson. Photos are of Kati when we discovered a new park by our house recently! I wish we would have known it was there a long time ago!
I printed out a star shape using Photoshop that was 3" tall and used it as a template, then traced it onto my page and used the sewing machine to stitch around the pencil lines. I love the star paper, as it works well with all kinds of photos! I added the MJ rub ons near the top (the white words).
To create the white journaling on the black background, I used Photoshop again, opened a new document with a black background and then added the text in white and printed on a white sheet of paper. The alphas are just a mixture of Doodlebug and Basic Grey that I painted yellow. I wanted some large alphas, but didn't have all of the letters in one set, so I had to combine them. The ! is an i turned upside down.

Be sure to stop by the Dream Street blog to see the previews of the new lines coming out!

A new video tutorial for you...

Hey everyone!
6 more days until the big reveal over at Label Tulip! Are you excited? I sure am! Here is a little sneak to what the July kit holds...
Today I also have a video tutorial to share with you that I created for the Label Tulip blog. I made a star-shaped card using Photoshop CS2 and wanted to show you how to add text around a shape. Here is the card we will be making.

After printing out the finished star on white cardstock, fold the cardstock in half with the fold on the left of the star. Cut out the star around the words, but do not cut on the fold. Tie ribbon around the card front into a bow, add a patterned paper star over the top and a button. If you have any questions, just leave me a note and I will do my best to answer them! This technique would be fun to create a shaped background for a page also!

Be sure to stop over to the Label Tulip blog and leave me a comment to be entered into a drawing for some yummy new Sassafras Lass goodies!

Photo heavy post!

Happy belated 4th of July! We had a busy, fun-filled 3-day weekend with bbq's and parties, a few sparklers, and yesterday a visit to the beach! Yesterday was the warmest day it's been so far, so we had to take advantage of the forecast of no rain! Thought I'd share a few photos from our weekend.

My sister-in-law and their family have a trampoline, and the kids enjoyed playing on that thing for hours! I had to take a few pics...

My niece Rachel..can you tell she is a gymnast?
Her cousin, Charley.
My Kati.
A little bit of texting...don't they look so grown up...
My niece and her other cousin, Megan.
Kati relaxing on the swing..she was so tired from the night before!
Virgil...the sweetest dog! Not ours, he belongs to the in-laws.
Bonding with Virgil.
Chillaxin on the boat. The guys were doing a little bit of fishing.
A few fireworks photos...they didn't turn out all that great, need some tutorials on photographing fireworks! This is my daughter, Taylor. Kati was NOT fond of them this year! She did one sparkler and that was it.
My nephew Sean...handsome guy, huh?
He just might kill me when he sees this..
A few pics from the beach yesterday of my beach babes...

Please stop over to the Label Tulip blog for some FUN and give-aways every day leading up to the next kit reveal on the 15th!! I posted some 4th of July cards on Saturday, and there will be video tutorials, sneak peeks and lots of challenges going on! Hurry over!
