pockets, veneer and resin...

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been posting much lately. Have been so, so busy with projects. I mailed a bunch of things off Friday for a manufacturer that I haven't worked with before and I can't wait to show you my things! I made 3 more cards with the Jan. Jenni Bowlin kits that I want to share with you really quick. These kits are packed full with things I love...wooden frames, embossed resin, little pockets....I could go on and on!

This little wooden frame is a veneer frame by Studio Calico. I used a Jenni Bowlin paint dauber called Soap Powder to dress it up. I just rubbed it over the frame lightly, allowing some of the frame to show through to create a worn look. The black damask is an exclusive Jenni Bowlin paper made just for this kit. When I was almost finished with the card, I decided the tag in the pocket was too white, so I brushed another paint dauber called Malted Milk over it to tone it down. The little pockets are Melissa Frances, aren't they cute!
On the Thanks card, I used the Basic Grey doily in the kit and stenciled over it with the Malted Milk paint dauber to create a fun background for a card. The black alphas looked a little stark, so I added some softness to them by zig zag stitching over them.
I added one of the Pink Paislee Artisan circles and a bingo star. Love these! Blue floss is from my stash.
The background on this next one is a paper from Studio Calico's Elementary line. I dressed up another little pocket and tucked a butterfly punched with my Sizzix butterfly die behind the pocket.
Jenni now sells vintage book paper like the one I used here. I folded it up and tucked it in the pocket. Wouldn't it be fun to add a special note for someone on the book paper?
The rest of the gallery by the team should be up sometime today! I loved the soft blues, greens and yellows of this month's kits!
Danielle
