This month marks Papertrey Ink's 9th anniversary, and we have some very special blog posts and things planned for you! Hold on to your hats! I'm excited to be on the team for another year. Yay!!!
For today's post, we were to select a favorite project from 2015. I don't know if this one is my very, very favorite (it's hard to pick just one!), but I like the color scheme, and that it was different from the colors I usually choose! So I went with this one:
The colors used are Dark Chocolate, Classic Kraft, Melon Berry, Scarlet Jewel and Summer Sunrise inks.
You can read more about this one HERE. There is actually a second card using this color palette in that post as well.
For today's post, I made another card using this color palette. I did add two more colors than the original card had ... I added Fine Linen ink and Berry Sorbet also. It was hard to beat the card above, as I really liked that one, but I gave it a go...
The Brushed Blooms stamp set and dies were used, and I stamped the big stem in the background with Fine Linen ink first to create a "shadow effect" to give the flower more dimension. Who says leaves have to be green, right? Then I added the stamped die cut flower over the top with dimensional adhesive behind it to pop it up off the card and added a few more tiny flowers in Berry Sorbet and Melon Berry.
Scarlet Jewel ink was used on the little flowers on the die cut and the "Always". I actually really like it and don't know why I don't used it more often!
As I reflect on the past year, I will admit 2015 was really been tough for me, personally. As you might know I've gone through a divorce after 16 years of marriage, and it wasn't a friendly one. (Is there such thing as a friendly divorce? I don't know!) It was sudden and unexpected for me...probably the toughest time of my life, to be honest, but creating has always been my saving grace….my happiness…and I didn’t want to let something that makes me so happy go. The ladies here behind the scenes have been so understanding and supportive during this tough time and over the past five years that I've been on the team! I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again, Papertrey Ink is not just a company I design for, it’s like a family to me. I love the people, the products, the excitement each month! And sharing what I have such a passion for! Thank you so much for visiting and being supportive of me. It means the world!
Thanks so much for stopping by today for the Anniversary kick off! Product reveals and projects start tomorrow! To see the rest of the DT favorites, be sure to hop around to their blogs...

Gee, this is so pretty!
Oh, Danielle. I love, love, love the new card! I cannot imagine how you pressed on and made such loveliness when you were struggling so - but you always did. Here's to a MUCH better 2016. I'm so glad you're back on the team!!
Beautiful cards and your first card was one of *my* favorites of yours!
Danielle, your card is amazing..love the colors. How on earth could you create amazing art and happiness while going through an incredibly difficult life event? YOU are amazing. Love your work, look forward to your magic every month. God bless!
Oh Danielle!!! My heart goes out to you and the struggle you've had to overcome this last year. I had no idea. I can't imagine how hard that must have been. Here's to 2016 being a year filled with sunshine on your heart and mind, on your family, and on all that you put your hands to do!
What beautiful cards! Great inspiration. Hope you have a wonderful 2016!
Danielle, Having gone through a divorce after 25 years of marriage, I know how hard it is to struggle through the changes. You've shown how strong you are by continuing to produce beautiful, creative cards to share with us. I hope that this next year will be an easier path to walk and that you will have many many happy days.
Hope 2016 is a better year for you.
Love, love the new card. The design and colours are gorgeous .
Both cards are stunning, Danielle!
Stunning card!!! Here is to 2016 bringing you happiness and peace!!
Loving the unconventional colors for your brushed blooms! The linen shadow is great! Cheers for a new year!
Love you, Danielle. Hugs for what you had to go through this year and for coming out strong. You inspire me so much with all the loveliness that you create. These two cards are gorgeous!
Danielle, you are one of my favourite designers and I'm so thrilled that you are a part of this team! Your cards are beautiful and I especially love how you stamped the Brushed Blooms twice like that -- fabulous idea!
So pretty!
Beautiful cards...such an inspiration to my own creativity!
I have to say, your amazingly beautiful photography and staging is, well, amazing! Gorgeous cards, always, completely enhanced by perfect photos! Love your work, love you, and so glad you're on my favorite design team! Thank you for all your inspiration!
Great cards!
I had no idea what you went through this past year. I cannot even imagine. Even though my marriage is not perfect (is there such a thing?!), my husband is my rock and my safe harbor. I am so glad that creating was able to give you a refuge.
Hugs to you Danielle! I can't imagine how difficult that the last year has been. I adore your creations and style and your make it Monday videos are some of my favorites. Listening to you explain your creative process is always so calming and enjoyable. I don't know you but I count you as a "virtual friend"! :) Here's to a great 2016!
So many of the DT have chosen color schemes that I do not immediately associate with them, and you're at the top of the list. It's fun to try something different. I actually think that you topped your inspiration card with your newest creation, but I've been crushing on Brushed Blooms lately, so that may bias me.
I can sympathize with you on your divorce, Danielle. Mine was with a marriage of over 20 years. I applaud you for taking a chance on relationships and jumping into the dating pool. I haven't been brave enough to do that. Hope this year finds you with much joy in your life. And thank you for sharing your talent with us.
Oh Danielle, i didn't know either you were going through a very difficult season. Your work is an inspiration and I am so glad you have not stopped crafting. You are so loved!
Beautiful card, Danielle!! Happy to hear that you'll be inspiring us with your wonderful designs for another year :) Congratulations!
Thank you for all you do to inspire us! Big hugs for what you have gone through personally. And prayers for strength and wisdom for the struggles to come.
It would be hard to choose between your two cards. Both are so beautiful. Love the colors
I love your creations and am constantly inspired. I just went through a divorce in 2015, after 15 years of marriage. I gave up blogging because of it. Just recently started to feel like crafting again. I'm so happy to hear that you were able to keep up with blogging while going through such a rough time. Keep it up!
Congratulations on another year with Papertrey Ink
I'm so sorry Danielle! I had no idea and I can only imagine how difficult this last year has been. Your work never showed it.
These cards are simply gorgeous and I love the fallish colors! I'm happy you had Papertrey Ink to help you in some way!
Both SO Gorgeous..couldn't choose..

Looking forward to all of your beautiful PTI creations again this year. Wishing you peace and joy in 2016.
Love, love the cards and the color combo. The white background really shows the stamping so well. I'm in creative envy!
Love, love the color combo...and the white background truly presents everything so well. I'm in card-making heaven!
I have always loved your style, and these cards are so lovely! You are a true professional that has inspired us all while persevering through difficult times. Best wishes for you and your daughters this year!
I'm so sorry to hear what you have been through. I have been away from stamping for a while and just getting back to it so I had no idea what you had been through. Love this color combo and what you did with the stems. I can't help but think this would be great for wintery cards where you want to use those sweet flowers. Thanks for sharing your gifts and talents amidst the storm.
it actually warms my heart to hear that the community you have found through sharing your gifts has helped you through (even if only a little bit) this difficult time in your life. your lovely cards have strengthened me on some lonely and not so bright days. onward, then. here is to a bright future and a lovely new year! thank you for sharing your gifts with your online supporters and fans!
Absolutely love both of these gorgeous cards Danielle! I look forward each month to the beautiful inspiration you create. Hope 2016 brings the happiness you deserve.
