Happy New Year!

...Well, almost! Do you have any plans for New Year's Eve? We usually just stay home because of the girls, have friends over, or what not, but this year I think is going to be a quiet one for us!

Speaking of new years and new beginnings, I'm so excited for Rebecca Cross, the owner of Create My Keepsake who has announced that she has sold CMK to Lisa Tilmon, and is starting her own manufacturing company called Pink Paislee! Rebecca is so very talented and I just adore her style...I'm sad to see her leaving CMK, but paired with Holly McCaig, I'm positive they will be successful in their endeavors! Can't wait to see their new lines debuting at Winter CHA this year! And a big congrats to Lisa as well! I've known Lisa for some time now, and she is definitely the person who can take CMK over, making it just as successful, warm, and fun as it was before! So please check out her first club kit for January 2008 here. These are few things I created with this kit!

One day Kati lined up all the Spongebobs
and had them marching across the coffeetable, how cute!

Santa Claus is comin' to town...

Only a few days 'til Santa comes! Yesss! I'm so happy just to be done with my shopping and wrapping, now I can enjoy the next few days with my girls! I meant to check in sooner and post some things, but time slipped away from me..such a busy time of year. Yesterday I made little white chocolate snowmen for Taylor's class wrapped in snowman cellophane and tied with little ribbons. I'll take a pic in the morning if I remember! Here are some things I have been working on for Inspire Me Card Kits:

My Snow Angels (my 2 girls a few days ago enjoying the snow..I still need to add my journaling..oops! Please click on the photos to see them larger.)
More projects for IMCK:
And here are the cards for Treasured Scrapbooking's December card kit featuring Basic Grey- Figgy Pudding papers. The patterns for the snowflake and mitten are included in the kit. There are only 3 left! Get one while they last!
Thank you for stopping in today! If I don't post again before the big day, I wish you a Merry Christmas!!! Hugs, Danielle

It's getting closer...

to the holidays! Are you ready? Me, well, not really...I have MOST of my shopping done, but not all. Just haven't felt up to going out in the 20 degree weather lately and fighting the crowds to finish it up! Bah-humbug! ha No...actually I am looking forward to Christmas day, seeing the faces of my children light up when they see the goodies under the tree.. and Santa's cookie crumbs left on the plate! Kati is getting older now (2 1/2), so she will be able to enjoy it this year too! There is one BIG goody that they don't know they are getting and so not expecting! It will be fun!Well, I have been busy making Christmas cards and it just tortures me to have to hold my work back...I love to share something right when I make it! But unfortunately I can't share these cards until the 15th, so I thought I'd post a little sneak peek for you of my next kit at Treasured Scrapbooking. These papers by Basic Grey are one of my fave color combinations for the holidays..so fun to work with! Thanks for visiting me, have a great night! ~Danielle~

Take a peeky...

at one of my cards for Right At Home Scrapbooking's December card kit! This was my first kit for them, and Lisa, the owner, helped me put together a gorgeous kit full of beautiful papers, trims and lots of extra goodies!! If you haven't decided yet that you need this kit..well let me reassure you...you DO! It is simply stunning. It comes with full directions for 5 cards, but if you didn't want to use it for cards, the papers are 12x12, so you can very well use it for your pages and projects. There is also an example card made with 2 scalloped chipboard pieces (in kit) that could be easily turned into a mini album for all your holiday photos! You will surely get your money's worth from this one! Click here to see the chipboard card/mini album.
And here is one more project for Inspire Me Card Kits. I used the rub ons in the Nov. kit to create this ornament!

Instructions:
1. Cut a circle from a transparency the size of the ornament (approximately).
2. Adhere "magic" circle rub on to middle of transparency piece.
3. Roll up transparency and insert into glass ornament (available at any craft store this time of year). It will automatically pop open inside ornament.
4. Pour in a bit of glitter for the snow. I used "Diamond Dust" from AC Moore.
5. Adhere snowflake rub on from kit to front of glass ornament.
6. Tie ribbon on top and attach brad to middle. (ribbon not in kit, but brad is)Thanks for stopping by! Hope your holiday shopping is coming along..only 18 more shopping days! ~Danielle~

Got snow?

We received some snow yesterday and had a snow day from school, unfortunately we couldn't go out and enjoy it, as it was sleeting and all iced over! But we enjoyed a nice relaxing day anyhow together. The kiddos are back to school today. Have you received any snow yet?

I did manage to do a little card making here and there! The first card is for
Sketch This: Cards #34. All paper and rub ons are Fancy Pants (my favorite!!) and the chipboard panel is by Rhonna Farrer (thanks for the goodies, Rae, you know me so well!) The star is just a little tin star that I had in my stash for years and years. The green velvet ribbon is from Timeless Trims. If you need vintage trim, check there! They have excellent customer service as well!
This one was done for Inspire Me Card Kits. I can't get enough of this fun kit! What I love about these kits now is that there are 3 different lines included! Check them out before they are gone! Thanks for stopping by today! I really appreciate your nice comments!~Danielle~

Decorating for the holidays...

Do you like to make home made decor items for the holidays? If you do, you will love these letters by Say It With Letters! I chose to alter them a little bit differently and instead of covering them with paper, I painted the letters black and brushed the edges with white paint, then added some photos of my girls with their cousin and some embellishments. These letters actually have holes in the back of them, so you can hang them on the wall too! If you would like to purchase the PEACE undecorated letters, click here. (You can view these photos larger by clicking on them.)

(Stocking card is out for PUBLICATION..Paper Crafts PC Holiday Card Issue, 2008.)

And this little stocking card is one more project for the kit over at InspireMeCardKits! I'm going to make a few of these for my nieces and nephews to hold their gift cards for Christmas (they love to go pick out their own toys, etc.)! Love the fun Scenic Route papers and chipboard! I used the rub on circles in the kit to form the heel and toe on the stocking card, just cut the circle in half before applying! They are really easy and so fun to make. Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Thanksgiving...

to all of you! Hope your day yesterday was filled with wonderful moments with your family! We had a great day together, laughing, eating, and laughing and eating some more. ha Wanted to share a couple of projects I made this morning (yes, I go through withdrawals with only one day of not scrapbooking-he hee) for Inspire Me Card Kits' November kit! Papers and chipboard are Scenic Route Roxbury..love this line and the colors! And don't forget to decorate your envelopes for your Christmas cards this year! The rub ons from Daisy D's and stickers from Creative Imaginations in the kit worked so well for this. I am going to write the address in the little circle. Well, have a fun weekend relaxing with your family or shopping if that is what you are doing today! Not me..I don't much care for the crowds. But hopefully sometime this weekend, we will get to put up our tree and start listening to all the fun Christmas music! Hugs, ~Danielle~

Tis the Season!

Well, we woke up to snow this morning...what a surprise! It definitely gets me in the mood to get out my Christmas decorations and music and start spreading the cheer around the house! If only I didn't have to get ready for Thanksgiving first. We have a tradition of putting up our tree this coming weekend. I can't wait!

I just wanted to pop in and share a couple more cards! The second one is for the next sketch over at Sketch This: Cards (#33). I adore these journaling chipboard pieces from Rhonna Farrer. I knew I had to have them when I first saw them! Christmas cards are so fun to make, aren't they?

I wish you all a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday! ~Danielle~

Happy Saturday!

This is just a little layout for fun of my 2 girls..I love seeing them grow closer and closer the older they get and wanted to get it down on paper! I shot a bunch of cute pics of them in the leaves one day!

And a cute lil card with a fun embossing technique on chipboard that I've been meaning to try. I laid the chipboard star on a paper plate and covered with a metal embossing stencil. Then added dimensional paint over the stencil and smoothed out with an old credit card, lifted the stencil off carefully and let dry. Then you can paint it, ink it, whatever you like! I really love the dimension it gives! Have a fun scrappy weekend! ~Danielle~

I sure do love Fancy Pants!!

Check out the new card kit from Treasured Scrapbooking featuring these beautiful papers from Fancy Pants!! LOVE their products. The colors in this kit are just so warm and perfect for those thank you cards or Thanksgiving cards for your loved ones! On the last one, I added paint to my chipboard flowers. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend! Do you have anything fun planned? ~Danielle~

Need a little inspiration?

Pop on over to Janelle's blog for the next sketch (#32)..it's up today! Here is my take on it:
The leaf was inspired by one of the latest Family Fun Magazines...they covered a leaf with yarn and it looked so neat! I didn't have any yarn, so I used twine by covering the chipboard with Therm-O-Web adhesive and sticking the little pieces of twine on. Papers are KI Memories and Chatterbox, brad is Queen and Co, lace is Wrights, and little rub on swirl is Basic Grey. Give it a try..it's fun! ~Danielle~

Little pocket card...

Just thought I'd pop in and share a little card made for the crop over at Treasured Scrapbooking this weekend..I wanted to share sooner, but became a little busy getting everything ready for my daughter's 8th birthday! We went rollerskating on Saturday with all her friends and had a terrific time, it was fun!! (but I am sore today..ha)
To make the card, I cut a strip of the polkadot paper (by Making Memories), folded it in half and stitched around the 3 edges to create the pocket, then used Scenic Route journaling stickers to create the snowman. I cut up a snowflake (Imaginisce) for his arms and used a Basic Grey rub on swirl for the snow! This would be fun for a Christmas card with a photo on the tag, or a gift card attached to the tag, or just a to/from tag to put on a present! I did some holiday shopping today and am getting in the spirit! How 'bout you? ~Danielle~

Feeling a little Christmasy!

I picked up some fun Christmas paper on my bus trip a few weeks ago, and am feeling in the spirit of things already! This card is for the Sketch This: Cards blog #31 here.
The second one was made for 2 things...Lilybean's challenge on her blog (FUN!) and also as an ad challenge for Treasured Scrapbooking! All participants who complete this challenge get their name in a drawing at the end of the month from TS! WOOT! So pop on over and play!
Have a great day! I have to make a run to Walmart..yuck! ~Danielle~

Up for a challenge?

Come on over to CMK...my challenge this week is to create a shaped card using software! I went a little crazy on examples here, but I was having so much fun with this. You can use Microsoft Word as I did on the “U rock” card and the “Happy Spring” card. To do so, open a new document, click on Insert, Picture, and WordArt and choose a shape. You can click on and drag the corner of the shape to make it larger or smaller. Print the shape at the top or bottom of a sheet of cardstock and fold to create a card base! Or you can use a digital element as I did on the others. There are many free digital downloads on the internet! Let me know if you have any questions and have fun! Can’t wait to see what you do!

Cute as a button (enlarged a digital button)
