Fresh Twist and Attic Treasures...

If you haven't popped on over to the Melissa Frances blog, you should make your way over sometime today to sign up for the big give-away! Melissa Frances is featuring two new lines at CHA this week called Fresh Twist and Attic Treasures. Here are some of my Fresh Twist projects...This is a little box that I covered with the new papers and die cuts and combined some MF baby stickers and rub ons. The top is a wooden frame added for dimension to the box. Don't ya just love these sweet prints?
The BFF card was created with more Fresh Twist papers and die cuts. I added a MF heart stamp onto a transparency and a MF friend rub on...
(Will be in Paper Crafts, Card Idea Book, Oct. 2009)

The YOU layout is of my daughter Kati. She loves to look in the mirror in the bathroom, hence the weird lighting..lol. She is the sweetest little girl, truly. I love her to pieces!!! More Fresh Twist papers here with a die cut and I used the border stamps under my photo. Everything here is Melissa Frances with the exception of the ribbon. (Sorry for the crappy photo of this! The cardstock is an off-white but for some reason it just wanted to look gray.) Added a couple of Bazzill pink wavy cardstock borders and some hand stitching.
The next couple of projects were done with the new Attic Treasures line, very vintagey looking and timeless...would go with any color! Very versatile!
This little photo holder is adorned with more Attic Treasures. I used the paper to create leaves for the chipboard flower and the die cut has one of the MF rub ons. This photo is of my great grandparents who passed away before I was able to meet them. When I saw the paper, I knew I had to break out some old photos to go with it.
The base is crackle finished, then covered with more of the paper, and added a family tree rub on by Melissa Frances.
I'm off to paint some more and fill holes. Fun, fun! ;)
Have a great day!

New Dream Street...

Happy Saturday! I have a couple more projects to share with you that I created for the Dream Street booth at the Craft and Hobby Show this year. I believe the show starts tomorrow in Anaheim, CA! How exciting, I wish I could be there and meet all of you peeps, but for all of you who are going, have fun!

The first is a little topiary that I created by hot gluing little empty ribbon spools together. I covered the spools with the papers from the Lullaby line, then added a few tiny photos with twine. The top is 3 ribbon spools that were from K&Co. I left a bit of the ribbon on those and painted the tops and bottoms white. Added a few butterfly buttons by Making Memories also with the hot glue gun and a "baby girl" rub on by Melissa Frances.
(Pics are of my sweet Kati when she was born. The bottom one is Taylor holding her after we came home from her being in ICU for 3 days. Kati was born with a heart condition, it was such a scary time!)
Next is a wire holder that I found at AC Moore in the wedding section. It had many branches that you add to it all around the base pole to hang wedding favors on. I decided to just use 2 of the branches. I found a wooden love sign and a chipboard house that I covered with the Forever Family papers by Kelly Shults of Dream Street. Added some photos of my hubby and I and my girls, and then I felt like it needed more pattern to it, so I decided to add some little paper curls to it also. The home rub on is by Melissa Frances. The little rose was created by twisting ric rac around in a circle and stitching it together at the bottom. I hung the love sign with twine from the swirls on the tree and made sure to hot glue everything together really well.
Thanks for looking! I'm off to paint some more! We are changing all of our trim to white in our house (as you can see in my love project photos) and I'm really loving the clean, crisp feel. Working on our hallway, then will move onto the living room next...hopefully after the weekend. It's such a lot of work! Have a great weekend,

CHA peeks #3...

Today Pink Paislee has posted on their blog its final new collection coming out this weekend at CHA. Here it is: Fascinating! Take a peek:

What do you think? The orange gingham is my favorite paper in this line, what's yours?

Also, be sure to stop over at the Dream Street blog and leave a comment for your chance to win the 6 new collections there too! The layouts are to die for! I created a little birdhouse for the booth with the new Secret Garden line...loooove these shabby chic papers so much!To create the roof, I cut little strips of paper with my scalloped scissors, brushed the edges with white paint and then hot glued them on. Added some little pearl trim, a resin flourish made by Melissa Frances and some cute little sparkly bells that I found at Walmart in the Christmas clearance isle for $.25 a pack! Hot gluing is definitely the way to go on a project such as this, I haven't really found anything else that works as well on wood.Thank you for stopping by and I'll have more for you tomorrow! :)

CHA peeks #2....

I finally have all my projects shipped off to CHA today...phew! What a relief that is!! I actually was able to relax last night, play a little Rock Band with Taylor, and just veg out. It felt great. Next up on my agenda will be to paint. We are redoing the stairs, hallway and living room the same color as our entry, which is called Darby Creek and I love it with the white trim. Have to finish it all before the carpet comes. I will share pics when we get it all finished!

Here is the next peek from Pink Paislee, a line called Captivating and I have to say that it has TOTally captivated me! I love it. It's my favorite of all the lines coming out this time. I love the color combo that they put together and the plaid die cut paper is so cute.
Couple of peeks of my projects using the Captivating line! You know me and butterflies...

For you...

Lots of "For You" cards today for you! =)

The next card kit at Create My Keepsake will be available soon for all you card kit members. You'll be getting an e-mail with the link to purchase this kit either today or tomorrow, so be on the lookout! If you are not a member, you can click HERE to become a member. (Any questions, just send me an e-mail: dflanders71@hotmail.com) Here is a picture of the yummy kit with new Making Memories - Love Notes and lots of extras!
Below are the 4 cards that I created with the kit. All of the supplies and instructions will be in the kit to create these, plus one altered item! (And I had a lot of supplies left, so you can do many cards or layouts too!)
This is the altered item I was telling you about that was also made with the kit. There are two patterns in the kit by the sweet Regina Easter, a Valentine bag that you see here (I printed it onto red cardstock) and the circle stamp that you see here also. They will be available for free download when you buy the kit.
I made these fun lollipops to tuck inside the bag. The lollipop supplies are NOT in the kit, but I thought I'd share with you how they are made, they are really easy and fun. You can buy all of the supplies at a craft store such as AC Moore. Put sticks into the tray and melt some white Almond Bark in a double boiler (water in the bottom pan and candy melting in the top pan). Pour melted Almond Bark into hearts in the tray. Gently tap the tray on the counter to even out the Almond Bark and get any bubbles out that may be in there. Then I put these in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes, because I am impatient and want to do another batch quickly! Gently pull them out of the tray when hard, wrap with cellophane and tie with a ribbon or twine. I love to make these for the kids in Taylor's class!
This next card is for the next challenge at Cardalicious! The challenge this week is to create a "For You" card using the color green and letter stickers. I used a bunch of Sweet Cakes here by Pink Paislee and some Making Memories, Hullabaloo. The ribbon is Making Memories, Paperie. Gem is from Walmart, blue lace cardstock is KI Memories and birthday rub on is Melissa Frances.(Will be in Paper Crafts, Card Idea Book, Oct. 2009)

Be sure to stop over at the Dream Street blog where they are beginning their peeks to the new lines coming out at CHA! I am excited that there will be rub ons with each new line!!

And a quick shout out to a few people who have awarded me a blog award recently...I'm so bad at remembering these, so I'm terribly sorry if I've missed anyone. I thank you soooo very much for reading my blog and for all your sweet comments!! Thank you to Peggy Sue from Denmark, Odette, Hilary and Nancy for the kind awards!

Hugs,
