Tis the Season...

Been finishing up my Christmas shopping, I'm still not done...why oh why do I wait til the last minute?! I'm such a procrastinator. I did find some super cute things today though. Kohl's has some terrific deals going on right now. A $44 sweater for $8! Heck, yeah! :) Somehow I earned "Kohl's cash" too. Not sure how or why, but they gave me a $10 gift certificate to use next time. Love that store! At least I finished shopping for my side of the family, so I can ship their gifts off tomorrow. Christmas cards are finally done too! Phew! Next is going to be the baking!

I only have a couple of things to share this time around. I wish I had more to show you. Do you ever feel in a funk during the holidays when there is sooo much to do? I've been creating for the Melissa Frances catalog and hopefully can share those items soon. The other ladies created projects that will just blow you away once again! They are so talented. Here is a card that I created for the blog. It is a pocket card that will hold a photo, Christmas letter or gift card...or all of the above!
Almost everything is Melissa Frances here, including the rub on saying, sticker, chipboard tree and the patterned paper (Amanda).(Will be in Paper Crafts, Holiday Idea Book, 2009.)

TIS the SEASON instructions:

1. To create this card, cut a piece of white cardstock 8 1/2" wide x 5 1/2" high.

2. Dry emboss with a polkadot stencil if desired to get the raised dot effect. (I used the Cuttlebug.)

3. Fold the card in towards the middle and overlap slightly. Adhere the seam going down the m
iddle and also adhere the bottom shut to create a pocket. I cut a strip of the white cardstock and rounded the edges to attach to the bottom of the card.

4. Next, use a round punch to punch a notch at the top. Cut a strip of the Amanda paper around the design in the paper about 4 inches wide and adhere horizontally.

5. Add a piece of material or ribbon tied in a knot, along with a piece of twine and a Christmas sticker from the Christmas Cardstock Stickers.

6. Add green glitter to a chipboard tree from the Glitter Christmas chipboard (it comes white). If you want to spray it with a sealant to prevent the glitter from coming off which I did here, try
RoyalCoat Decoupage Paper Sealer. Let dry, then add it to your card with a glue dot.

7. Lastly, apply a "Tis the
Season" rub on from the Christmas Transfers.

The next card was created for the next challenge over at Card-a-licious! The challenge was to create a Christmas card with a Christmas icon on it, such as a tree, wreath, etc. I chose to make a little angel. Lots of Melissa Frances supplies on this one too, rub on, resin wings, chipboard holly and some of the new Christmas paper!
PEACE on EARTH instructions:

1. Cut card base from white cardstock and emboss with swirl stencil (used the Cuttlebug).

2. Use a bowl to trace onto the blue patterned paper for the angel's body. Cut out and adhere.

3. Attach resin wings, holly chipboard and 3 red buttons for the berries on th
e holly. Adhere Spanish moss to the bottom of the angel.

4. Wrap wire around a pencil several times. Flatte
n with your fingers, leaving one end hanging down. Attach to card with a glue dot for the "halo".

5. Use circle punch to create the angel's face, coloring cheeks pink with chalk, and add eyes and a mouth. (She's singing. hee hee)

6. Attach rub on saying to the top.

If you like to make cards, come on by and try the challenges with us!
