The February kit at Jenni Bowlin...

...is scrumptious! I loved, loved everything, especially the vintage book paper and the Studio Calico papers/journaling cards. It was fun to work with!

These are a few things that I've made with the kit so far. Please check out the rest of the gallery~ the girls on the team are just A-mazing...

This one is a page about my mom and dad. Everyday I think of them and miss them! *hi mom* I know she reads my blog now. ha They were here visiting in August. I hope some day to move back to the slower, friendlier pace of South Dakota and miss it sooooooo much!

To get the hand-stitched circle on my page, I used a small salad plate, traced with a pencil and then poked holes along the line. Then erased the lines and stitched right along the holes, easy way to get a nicely shaped circle. OH! Check out the Core'dinations cardstock...when you sand the raised portions, you get a cool effect!
I adore the Hambly transparency, so with the leftovers, I made some Valentine cards. I simply folded the transparency and creased the top to create a card. Check out these pretty buttons. They didn't come in the kit, but they are the new Jenni Bowlin buttons and I couldn't wait to use them. :) The second card was attached at the bottom to create a pocket and I added a chipboard heart to the front and a vintage label inside.
Little Red Chair has some pics of my daughter when she was 2! The rub ons were added over the blue cardstock and I had a heck of a time getting a photo of this one, but they are shiny on both sides, it's just the way the light is shining on my page that makes them look different.
Lastly, a pic of my guy. Journaling says, "10 years ago he married me, I feel so blessed that he loves me." I went crazy with my stitching.
I've been scrapping a lot lately. Seems like when I take a long break, it's harder for me to get back into it. How about you? How often do you scrapbook?
Danielle

P.S. I forgot to mention that I got an e-mail from a scrapbooker and it was accidentally deleted before I could read it...if that was you, could you please send it to me again? I'm so sorry!

That is a precious kit and your projects are fabulous! As far as scrapbooking, I scrapbook probably every other day...Tues, Thurs, Sat...that is pretty much my schedule. It is hard for me also when I take a break...try not to!

it actually works for me in the opposite - when i take a long break, the scrapping comes back better when i start up again.

Danielle - having grown up in South Dakota myself, I can understand your desire to go back. If I had kids, I would go back in a heartbeat!!!

I have a really hard time getting back into scrapping routine if I have had a break. I just had son #2 and hadn't scrapped in almost 3 months. The last few times I cropped it was like I was scrapping for the first time, I had no flow!

great work~ i seems like i never have anytime to scrap. now that i have my scrap room i can start a project and leave it on the table and go back to it. so a layout may take me weeks!! And by the way you are welcome to come back to SD anytime. I would love to be able to attend some classes that you teach. Maybe you could spice up the local scrapbookers here.

I really love your layout, especially the one of your DH! It's cute and you rocked it as usual girl!

I hope that things are going well for you this week!

I used to scrapbook everyday, that was when I wasn't working and we just moved back to the states. Then over time, I started doing other things, making friends, getting involved, volunteering, and doing Alyssa things that I didn't feel the need to scrap daily. Now that I am working I go days without even scrapping! But when I've got DT stuff or the new ST kit in, I end up playing for a bit. So it goes in droves!!! I love scrapbooking, but one of the things I really enjoy about it now is that I don't have to scrap daily if I don't want too. Where as before I felt like I did! It's fun to walk away from it for a bit and then turn around and scrap like crazy!!!

Be blessed!

Dani these are spectacular! Your stitching is so beautiful and I LOVE those Jenni Bowlin buttons and Hambly transparency!! FABULOUS!!

I feel the same about missing my mom. And it seems like I've REALLY been missing her more and more lately. Maybe for me, it's also the winter blues? Thank you for the inspiration, sweetie!!! ♥♥ Kay

Hello! Your work is amazing! I find when I take a break from scrapping that it is harder to get back into it. I tend to make more cards. For some reason I second guess myself on the layouts I try and make. I want to do a really good job on them since I hope they will stay in the family for generations. I might be putting too much pressure on! lol. When I do jump back into scrapping, I find I get a big roll and do a bunch of pages!
