Me at 38...

It's not all that often that I scrapbook about myself, because well....sometimes I feel that I'm not all that interesting! lol But when I was thinking of a theme to do for this mini album for Pink Paislee, I decided to "map" out my life and divide it into 5 categories:

1. Growing up
2. College
3. Getting married
4. Raising children
5. Now

To me, scrapbooking has always been more of a creative outlet. I feel like I NEED to create to be happy! But I don't want to always make things JUST to create. I really want to preserve memories too and tell our stories! I thought this little mini album would be a nice keepsake for my girls. I would love to have one of these from each of my parents explaining how they grew up and experiences they remember. (That's another project - maybe in the near future!)

This was a mini album that I did for the CHA show for Pink Paislee using their new 365 line! I loooooove the colors in this line! It will be shipping early March, so tell your local scrapbook store owners to pre-order it now.

On the front cover, we have the cork buttons, pleated ribbons, die cuts and weathered wood chipboard. Love how it's already distressed. The album is a new Artisan album - I added the red rub ons to the cover, but you can paint or do whatever to the canvas that you'd like. When I first started, I was going to add lots of photos, but the journaling sort of took over and I realized I had more to tell about than I had thought. Inside cover:
1. Growing up...At the top of all the pages, I used the borderline stickers to give it a good flow throughout all of the pages. These are just some random things I remember when I was little.
A funny picture of me, no laughing now! Ok, I laughed when I saw this, so I guess you can too. :)
2. College and some experiences during that time...
3. Marriage...how we met and the events that happened during that time...
4. Raising children...
5. Where I'm at in my life now...
Back inside cover...love these cork buttons, they are so neat.
I was glad to have done this assignment and think we should all scrapbook our stories for our children! I may even add more pages to go into a little more depth. This album is on a 3 ring binder, so you can definitely add more pages. I wish I had known more about my grandparents and had them write out their stories for us.

Love the products...Pink Paislee ROCKS! But I really love this idea. I am really bad about scrapping myself and I think I could do this...I hate pictures of myself so I tend to not scrap me! Thanks so much for sharing. Adding it to my list of projects to do.

This is such a lovely concept, and the album you put together is simply STUNNING. I can just imagine your girls coming across this in years to come and being so glad that their mum made something like this.

This is so amazing! i had to call the coworkers over to see it. Next time you come back to visit your parents, not that you would ever have time, try to stop down at The Playground so we "GROUPIES" who love your work could meet you in person. I was also a Pooper Scooper!!!!
