botanical inspiration...

Awhile back, Paper Crafts Magazine asked me to make a "botanical" project for an article in the July/August 2011 issue. I just received the copy in the mail! When thinking about this project, I found this beautiful pillow in the Pottery Barn catalog and used it for my inspiration...
The Pink Paislee "Butterfly Garden" line was perfect for this project! I couldn't believe how similar the colors and products were!

I used the Dragonfly paper in the background and painted one of the new wood shapes with a Heidi Swapp paint, added a Butterfly Garden Press On (flowers on right side), a piece of lace, two Clear Pop butterflies, a Bauble,  a little Metal Charm, some Ephemera.
I chalked the papers a little bit around the edges with brown chalk.
This project came together so fast. I love it when that happens!
