Papertrey & Project Favorites...

Papertrey Ink is celebrating its 7th Anniversary this February, can you believe that? There will be so many fun festivities and prizes to be had. Hope you'll stay tuned to Nichole Heady's blog all this month!

I've been in the Papertrey Ink family for exactly 3 years now! I started designing for Papertrey Ink February 2011. I say "family" because it really is like a family to me! Everyone is so supportive of one another, and it's really just an amazing group. Designing for Papertrey Ink doesn't feel like a "job" to me, it feels more like a community where I am welcomed and encouraged for what I love to do the most, create. A family is a community that cheers you on, a family supports you, a family gets you when you need something and encourages you to be your best. This group, with Nichole very much included and leading us, makes me feel at home and really inspires me to be a better designer. I love that, and I'm so thrilled to be included in the Papertrey Ink family for another year. I can't wait for you to see what we have in store this year! We hope to inspire you as much as we inspire each other! This team inspires me like no other.

Here are some of my favorite Papertrey Ink projects from 2013.
Let me tell you a little about these (from top left to right). You can click on the links to see them in better detail!

I chose this as one of my favorite projects, because it was super fun to make. Washi tape is high on my trends list right now and so easy to work with! And the Happy from the One Liner dies....oh my goodness. I think these dies were my favorite from the whole entire year. A super easy project with a lot of bang!

This card is one of my favorites from the year also. The stitching die that pokes the holes for you? ...What a great idea. Papertrey Ink thinks of everything, don't they? They sure know how to make crafting fun. I used a different color of twine for each letter with some simple stamping in the corners and love how it turned out! It's very "one-layer", not bulky, easy to mail, yet has that wow factor that will have you yearning to mail it out to a special friend.

Doodlie-Do card: 1/14/14
I chose this card because I really loved the technique and the look of the embossing with white embossing powder on the vellum Really creates a "doily" sort of look...and light and airy! Vellum is so trendy these days, and adding sequins peeking out from underneath adds a feeling of depth and excitement to see want to peek under to see what all the fuss is about.

Apple Prints cards: 9/10/13
I don't know what it is about apples, maybe that I was once a teacher and have a soft spot for that type of thing, but I just loved creating the little apple tree, mixing the Mighty Oak tree with all of the cute apple patterns.

Watercolor Feather cards: (last ones in post): 1/13/14
First of all, the feather stamps are just gorgeously (is that a word?) done with the fine detail built right into the stamps. You can't really go wrong with this set! Second, I loved trying a more "mixed media" technique on them by painting the stamps with reinkers. Love the effect. The 2-step stamping with the dots embossed in gold gives you yet another layer of beautiful detail!

Sending Birthday Hugs & Wishes card: (1st card in post): 3/15/13
This card definitely has ALL my favorites in one. I love white on white. I love doilies, butterflies, the Rosie Posie stamp set, twine and the pretty swirly font in Stylish Sentiments: Birthday. Put it all together and voila! A recipe for a beautiful and feminine "modern vintage" card!

With Love card: (2nd card in post) 12/15/13
Last, but not least, this card surprised me as I was making it recently. Stamping the frame in multiple colors was something I hadn't tried before. I love the soft colors and the vellum hearts and the dimension. The Cover Plate: Happy Hearts is so useful for so many different things!! With one cut, you get so many hearts to play with!
