Lily Bee designs...

Hi there, just wanted to pop in and share a few things that I've made with Lily Bee's new lines: Sweet Shoppe and Pinwheel! The first layout is made with Sweet Shoppe. This line is my favorite out of the two with it's fun patterns. I wanted to show all of the pretty patterns, so I used strips behind a little title that I cut out with my Silhouette Cameo machine.
I dangled a little photo of Kati when she was little. The journaling tells about how she was such a good baby and still is that same girl - very easy to take care of. Such a great kid!
A little pic of the butterfly and stitching detail...

This card is made with the Pinwheel line (papers) and the berries and saying are Sweet Shoppe. The frames are cut with Mat Stack 6 dies by Papertrey Ink.

Loved all of the patterns in the little banner, so I had to add it across the card!

Here is Sweet Shoppe again with lots of the tab stickers...

Another Sweet Shoppe card. I used a doily and some banner stickers.

A few quick tags...These are cut with Papertrey Ink's Wine Bottle Tag Die.
The tags below are made with the Pinwheel line. I used Papertrey Ink's die called Card Base-ics #2 and Turning a New Leaf die for the stems.

The colors in the Pinwheel line are much softer, but so pretty! I made a few more things, but my photos didn't turn out that well, as I was in a hurry to rush them to FedEx that day to have them wisked off to CHA. Ug! Thank you for stopping in and visiting me today! xo I'll be back with some Studio Calico sneaks soon.

gift card wrap...

I'm back with a quick card that was on the Lily Bee blog today. Pocket cards are my favorite, especially during the holidays - tuck in a gift card, holiday photo, candy canes, shredded paper... whatever your heart desires to make it fabulous for the recipient!

First, I cut two Mega Mat Stack 4 pieces from Lily Bee's Christmas Cheer paper. I just run the die over my paper in my Cuttlebug machine to cut the front and back pieces. Next they were adhered on all sides to create the pocket, leaving the top open.

A Christmas Cheer journaling card was used on the front - it's hard to see in my photos, but it's a tan polka dot card with a blue snowflake on it. I simply added twine, a punched heart, a floral pin and felt photo corners. A Chrismtas Cheer stamp was added for the sentiment.

Voila! Hang it on your tree if you'd like until Christmas- makes a cute ornament as well. Stop over to the Lily Bee blog to see more holiday card ideas.

grateful for family...

I have a couple of fall cards to send out to my family - these are made with Lily Bee Designs' Autumn Spice line of papers and stamps.
On the first card, I used Papertrey Ink's Melon Berry ink to first stamp the circles, then Canyon Clay ink to stamp over the top with the hearts. I wasn't sure how these two colors would look together, but they turned out pretty cute. Also stamped the heart, circle and family from the Autumn Spice stamps and popped it up for dimension.

The "so grateful for you" was cut with my Cameo. I'm getting more and more use out of it, and am not so scared of it anymore! :) The doily was cut with the Doily Details die - I'm so addicted to that die set. Button is from A Flair For Buttons.

On the second card, I stamped the circles with Fine Linen, the outer rings with Classic Kraft and then the hearts with Canyon Clay ink. Family is stamped with Dark Chocolate ink. After all of the stamping was done, the card front was embossed with a Swiss Dots embossing folder and the Cuttlebug.

Speaking of the Cuttlebug machine, I used that along with Papertrey Ink's Counting My Blessings die collection to trim out the word from the Autumn Spice papers. A quick tip: you are probably wondering how I got the heart punched from papers that is the same heart that I stamped? I stamped the heart on the back of the patterned paper and cut it out.

Using index journaling cards...

Two posts in a row for me, I'm on a roll!

For my cards today on the Lily Bee blog, I chose to use the Christmas Cheer line, as I just can't get enough of this line! Red is my favorite color, so I keep coming back to these products. I love to layer the Lily Bee journaling cards, so here I've layered a chevron card under the "25" card. (The chevron card is actually upside down, but I love the design of the chevrons and wanted to use that in my card design.)

I used a snowflake punch, along with the Christmas Cheer stickers to create a dimensional snowflake, and popped up the sticker in the center.

Supplies: Christmas Cheer line by Lily Bee (12x12 paper, index journaling cards, stickers, 6x6 Tiny Tablet). Other: red cardstock.

On the next card, I made the beautiful  Lily Bee journaling card my focal point.

To highlight the journaling card, I placed a punched 2" circle from patterned paper behind it and added some die cut holly, cut with the Holly Jolly die collection by Papertrey Ink.

I saw a greeting card in a store that had 2 shades of holly for each leaf, and I loved how it looked, so I trimmed the holly in half and pieced them back together with light and darker green patterned paper from the Christmas Cheer line. The card front is then wrapped up like a little gift with twine before adding it to the cardstock base.

Supplies: Christmas Cheer line by Lily Bee (12x12 papers, Index Journaling Cards, 6x6 Tiny Tablet). Other: twine, holly die by Papertrey Ink, tinsel, 2" circle punch, corner rounder, hole punch, white cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed these journaling card ideas today! Don't forget to check out my City Sidewalks Christmas card kit in the post below. For only $23, you get a ton of full packages of products, along with a lot of extra goodies put together by me! I have 5 card samples you can make with the kit to give you ideas as well. boo to you...

It's hard to get back to Halloween after making Christmas cards, but I have a Halloween card to share with you that was on the Lily Bee blog today.
I punched out two circles for the O's and used an Upper Script Alpha die for the B in boo. A heart cut from the Tiny Tags dies is layered over the boo also and hooked on with a little pin. The pin is tucked into the felt, so it doesn't poke the recipient!
Combining patterns on your card and layering a stamped image like I did here with the Persnickety chevron stamp really adds detail to a card! Setting the focal point at an angle also helps the card to be a little more unexpected and interesting. I used Lily Bee's Autumn Spice 6x6 Tiny Tablet, Lily Bee's Persnickety Clear Stamps, Lily Bee's Autumn Spice ABC Cardstock Stickers, a Canyon Clay ribbon, and a Soft Stone button.
What are you working on today? I can't believe Halloween is almost here. This fall is flying by! We're making a trip to the pumpkin patch tomorrow after school, since it's supposed to be a nice sunny day. Have a good one!

a flair for buttons...

Happy card making day! Are you making time for crafting today?

It's no secret that I love chevron patterns these days, so I was excited when I saw these cute buttons at A FLAIR FOR BUTTONS on Etsy. I know, excited about flair...ha..my husband makes fun of me, but I do love new and fun embellies. :) They have pages upon pages of totally cute flair for any occasion. I chose to use the chevron button to jazz up a snowflake on a card! The snowflake is cut with a Damask Snowflake die.

Under the flair, I added an ABC stamped circle and a notebook lined circle (from the Tag-Its #6 stamp set by Papertrey Ink), which I thought would make a cute addition for a teacher holiday card...

Journaling cards used here and 6x6" papers are from the new Christmas Cheer line by Lily Bee Designs. I actually stamped the notebook circle onto vellum and layered it over a punched patterned paper circle. I love how the soft effect turned out! Added a My Mind's Eye brad, tiny piece of Aqua Mist felt from Papertrey Ink, a pretty baker's twine and a floral pin = a lovely mix of layered goodness.
How would you like to win a set of your very own Linen Chevron Flair like I have used on my card? You can! Leave a comment here to be entered to win this awesome flair set by Shelley Haganman from "A Flair for Buttons". Comments will be closed on Monday, Oct. 8th at midnight CST.

Christmas cheer...

It seems weird to think about Christmas already, but when you really think about it, it's right around the corner! Have you started your Christmas cards yet?

I just received the new Christmas Cheer line by Lily Bee Designs. The patterns and colors are gorgeous together, I really had fun making these! I used the 6x6" paper pack and the Christmas Cheer stamp set onto a Studio G white card base (from Walmart). The snowflakes were stamped with Spring Rain ink by Papertrey Ink, and I stamped them twice before re-inking to get a darker and a lighter version of the Spring Rain ink color flowing down the card.
The sentiment is from the Christmas Cheer stamps also by Lily Bee, and the inks are Enchanted Evening and Pure Poppy by Papertrey Ink. The snowflake was first cut out and used on the top card, then I used the negative of the image on the bottom card, popped up with pop dots from the back to create dimension!
The little JOY banner was stamped with the Christmas Cheer stamps and cut out! To embellish the big snowflake (cut with the Damask Snowflake dies), I just cut a strip of felt and stitched it around in a circle. It's not perfect, but I love the character it gives to the otherwise very flat snowflake.

Christmas Cheer card set:
STAMPS: Christmas Cheer by Lily Bee Designs
INK: Spring Rain, Enchanted Evening, Pure Poppy by Papertrey Ink
PAPER: Christmas Cheer 6x6" paper pad by Lily Bee Designs, Studio G card base
DIES: Damask Snowflake, Peace Be Still dies (small snowflake) by Papertrey Ink
OTHER: twine by ScrapPantry on Etsy, felt by Papertrey Ink.

Stop over to the Lily Bee blog to see more Christmas Cheer projects. We have been making things all week. Today is just a mix of cards for World Card Making Day! :) Hope you get time to yourself today to make a few cards. Hugs!

looks like fall...

Thank you to all who left a comment for the Scrapbook & Cards Today issues! I will announce the winners in a moment. First, I have two fall cards to share made with Lily Bee's new Autumn Spice line. Love the colors!

On this card, I used a Papertrey Ink die called Photo Finish Strips to cut the red strip with an Autumn Spice sticker in the middle. Before adhering it, I added a mini clothespin to hang a sentiment, stamped with the new Autumn Spice stamps! Tag is cut with the Tiny Tags.

On the next card, I pulled out my beloved Maple Leaf punch again (by Fiskars, I believe). I have gotten so much use out of this punch! The little fall journaling card was so cute, I had to use it on my card. Inspired by the tab on the top, I cut another tabbed piece with my Desktop File: Inspiration die (center die) to tuck behind.

The mini clothespins were just from the craft supply store, but a fun addition.

And a little bit of twine tops off the fall-ish feel! You really can't go wrong mixing and matching these papers - they are gorgeous together!

I hope you will visit the Lily Bee blog all this week for more fall inspiration! The leaves on the trees are starting to turn here in New York, and I really need to get out and take some pictures. It's a beautiful time of year here! I have two big things coming up - can't wait to share those that I've been working on with you.

Now to announce the winners of the SCT Magazine giveaway. Ladies, please contact me at dflanders71@hotmail.com with your mailing addresses! Thank you to everyone for stopping by! :)

quatrefoil, gingham and vellum...

I am really loving a die called Cover Plate: Quatrefoil Die by Papertrey Ink, and I pulled it out the other day to play around with it again.
I cut one Quatrefoil piece out of white cardstock and three more Quatrefoil pieces using the plaid papers from the 6x6" Double Dutch Tiny Tablet by Lily Bee Designs.

I first placed the white border onto my card and then filled in the colorful centers with the plaid pieces! It's fun to create a design with the patterns. The little pieces pop out, and you can arrange them however you'd like. Everything is placed onto a white cardstock base, and I like how the white-on-white looks.
For the sentiment, a piece of vellum was added and a stamped "Thank You" from PTI's Think Big Favorites #4.  I really like how the patterns still show through the sentiment. To adhere the vellum, I used a few tiny dots of Elmer's Craft Bond Fabric & Paper Glue, which worked beautifully and dried clear.
