a butterfly bash for the littles...

Have you seen the March/April issue of Paper Crafts Magazine? It is loaded with fun birthday cards and party ideas! This is a birthday ensemble that I made for the issue. I used Jenni Bowlin chipboard butterflies and lots of Pink Paislee's Parisian Anthology and Sweetness products.

This is a gift box and little "wand" that I made to tuck inside. I covered the gift box with the Parisian papers and topped it off with the Portfolio Album Band (it's made to go around an album, but I thought it was so pretty, I wanted to use it here on my box). I added some Parisian tickets and jewels.

To decorate the inside of the box, I sprayed some doilies from the craft store with a yellow shade of mist and hot glued them around the inside of the box. You can cut them in half and get more out of your doilies! Just put the decorative side on top and the cut side on the bottom where no one will see.

Next, I made a little wand to tuck inside. You could also make these wands for the kiddos for something fun at the party or to give away as a thank you at the end of the party!
The wands are just made with Jenni Bowlin chipboard butterflies, covered with papers and stamped butterflies on acetate (stamps are Parisian Anthology as well). I added Prima flowers and hot glued them to bamboo skewers from the grocery store, then tied on some frilly, girly ribbons. :)

I made a little gift card holder to match. The yellow is a Parisian paper that I sprayed with Glimmer Mist and rubbed with a paper towel.

It's beautiful up close when the pattern in the paper is revealed! Love playing with this paper. For the gift card, I just used my 2" circle punch to leave a little opening to insert a gift card and didn't adhere the top paper on that side to allow the gift card to slide in.
With 2 daughters, I'm sure we'll be having lots of butterfly parties in our future!
