Doily Details

Welcome to the Papertrey Ink group blog post featuring the new Delightful Doilies stamps and dies!

I have to tell you that it was SO hard to wrangle my mind into one particular idea with these, there are so many things you can do with them....as you will probably see from the other team members! I made a little card set for a friend with one of my favorite color combinations....

The "Thanks So Much" card is a tri-fold card that I made myself with Aqua Mist cardstock.  The two cardstock doilies are cut with these:

There are a ton more that come in the set, but I just wanted to show you the ones I used on my card. Gah! I'm so happy I can use these over and over. I have a fierce addiction to paper doilies and have been buying them in the baking section at the craft store. No more! Now I can make my own!

I stamped the smaller blue doilies with Hawaiian Shores ink. Then I stamped the "Thanks So Much" with True Black ink and rounded the top corner.

I added the red cardstock doily to the inside (and it covers up my stamping mistake!)

Lastly, I stamped a black ring inside the white doily, added baker's twine, a flower and a pin.

This next card is stamped with the new Background Basics - Newsprint stamps! Another one I will be using over and over for SURE.
I cut the two white ends with this doily edge die, then stamped "Hello, Friend" along the edge...

I added those two die cut edges right onto the front of my card (one on the top and one on the bottom). Then I tied the card with baker's twine. The plaid heart in the center is made by cutting my own heart from some ribbon in my stash. "Sending my love to you", the stamp I used in the center, is from the new Tag Its #1 stamp set!

Be sure to check out the "Doily Hunt" event at Nichole Heady's blog!

I have such anticipation to see what the other designers have made as well. Come check them out. Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day to you all! xo

No wonder this is your favorite color combo, it is BEAUTIFUL! Your cards are fabulous. I am very intrigued by the plaid ribbon heart, it is so dynamic. I would love to know how you did it, with scissors or craft knife? The ends don't seem to be fraying at all did you use Fray Check or something??? TFS.
