Alpha-blocks...

Well, hello! Thank you for stopping by. We have another Papertrey Ink group blog post to share with you some fun new stamp sets coming out this month. Today we are featuring the new Alpha-blocks set, which I used on the XO in my title work...
I have scrapped these pictures before, but they totally make me smile and are some of my favorites of Kati. Very reflective of her happy and infectious personality! On the XO stamps, I used a "kissing" technique with another new stamp set called Tag-its #3, a small floral stamp.

I'm sure many of you have already tried "kissing your stamps". ha But if you haven't, let me show you how I did it.

First, you will need to cut two little squares with the Alpha-blocks die. Get your Alpha-blocks stamp set ready also.
Ink up the X and the O alpha blocks with any ink color. The darker colors work better for this technique. I used Hawaiian Shores ink.

Next, grab the Tag-Its #3 stamp set and pick the little group of flowers stamp.
You will place this floral stamp right over the X that you inked up and press down. (Please excuse my dirty stamp!)

It will look something like this, which is hard to see, but when you stamp it on white cardstock, you will see it much better.

Now stamp the X onto the little white cardstock pieces that you cut out previously. Here are the finished X and O that have been "kissed"...

It's fun to add a little bit of pattern to these alpha blocks and reminds me of a watercolor painting, very soft. You could do polkadots, stripes, etc.! Here are a couple more photos of my layout:

I also used the new Library Ledger Year Additions on the bottom border (2011). Hop on over to the other gals' blogs to see what they've created with the Alpha-blocks stamps if you'd like!
