I know, I know. It's hard to think about Christmas right smack in the middle of summer. But, did you see the new line by Basic Grey called Evergreen? It is irresistible and really puts me in the mood to get a head start on all my holiday projects! I was asked to do a guest design post for them this week, and I made a little Countdown to Christmas Calendar. It's a frame I made myself from scratch with wooden pieces from the store, and has a clip to hold the countdown tags, one tag for each day. My kids will have such fun changing these out every day when December arrives!

Countdown to Christmas...
Wait, what? Christmas?
I know, I know. It's hard to think about Christmas right smack in the middle of summer. But, did you see the new line by Basic Grey called Evergreen? It is irresistible and really puts me in the mood to get a head start on all my holiday projects! I was asked to do a guest design post for them this week, and I made a little Countdown to Christmas Calendar. It's a frame I made myself from scratch with wooden pieces from the store, and has a clip to hold the countdown tags, one tag for each day. My kids will have such fun changing these out every day when December arrives!
Swing by to see how I made the frame to hold the countdown numbers and all of the fun tags at the BasicGrey blog. Thank you to Basic Grey for having me this month! I LOVED the Evergreen line so much, and I know you all will too!

Today is the last post for my guest spot over at Basic Grey, and it's been fun working with their products! My layout is made with their new Plumeria line and is their sketch for the week. Let me help you complete a scrapbook layout quickly by
providing you with a starting point! Simply grab your photos and favorite
product, and you’ll be done in no time!
I love this photo of Kati, and I know I've used it before, but when I look at it I see a happy girl, a lot like me, she's usually very positive and kind to people... usually so very content no matter where she is or what she's doing. I thought "She's an extension of my happiness" would be a fun title for this page. It also has a double meaning to me, that when my husband and I decided to try for one more baby, we were so happy in that time of our lives. Had just moved into a house together and everything seemed like the right time. Cheesy? I know...a little bit! I'm really sappy like that....
Here I used the Plumeria Stickers as a little embellishment next to my photo. I die cut some of the papers with the Love Lives Here die by Papertrey Ink and scattered them down the page. The purple cardstock helps ground the photo a little bit. I wrote the journaling on a die cut Half & Half tag and tucked it under the photo!
I absolutely love the grey/purple color combo!
Here is the sketch if you'd like to play along this week - leave a link to your layout or card at the Basic Grey blog HERE!

What conveys "party" more than confetti? I have a serious addiction to confetti and brads lately. I took out some Basic Grey
brads and my hole punchers and went to town creating a confetti feel on a
little pocket card!
To make the pocket, I folded a piece of vellum up and stitched the sides with a zigzag stitch with my sewing machine. Vellum is very easy to stitch. I used different sized hole punchers to create a fun confetti border on the pocket.

I made a white
cardstock tag to tuck inside that says, "Thank you for coming to my
party!" I added some Basic Grey's Plumeria papers and stickers...love the
purples and oranges. I found the colors bright and happy, great for a
birthday!

Stop over to the Basic Grey blog to play along with their "confetti challenge" and to see a full supply list for this project.

I'm very excited to share that BasicGrey has asked me to make a few things for them this month! They sent me the Konnichiwa line and the Plumeria line, both super easy to work with! Today on the BasicGrey blog, they have posted this layout I made, along with a tutorial on how to do these little patchwork arrows...
A little bit about this page....we have a blanket that my grandma made many, many moons ago for me. I've kept it all these years... and now Kati has inherited it! She ADORES it and I don't know what she'll ever do when it's gone. :) It's so tattered and worn, but it means the world to us, to her as a lovie that comforts her each night and to me as a reminder of my grandma.
I hope you'll stop over to their blog to read the tutorial! The patchwork arrows are really quick and easy to make.
P.S. You might have noticed the "Pin It" buttons at the bottom of my posts, from now on you can easily pin a project to Pinterest you see here on my blog. :)
