Happy NSD! *Giveaway now closed*

Well, hello there! A few of my scrapbooking and cardmaking friends and I have put together a fun blog hop in honor of National Scrapbook Day! Are you getting crafty today? There will be a few giveaways and special things along the hop, so be sure to hop along, get to know all of these creative people, and see what they are up to!

First, we thought it would be fun to share a little bit about each of us. Please feel free to play along and post your favorites too! Currently...

1. Favorite YouTube clip: Jimmy Fallon's Ew! videos...my 9 year old daughter, Kati, and I laugh and laugh! We love Jimmy Fallon!
2. Listening to: Pandora on my iPad - Today's Hits Radio.
3. Watching: Game of Thrones.
4. Reading: I'm not much of a reader, just online news and blogs!
5. I can eat this everyday: definitely chocolate.
6. Favorite drink at 4pm: Diet Dr. Pepper.
7. On my wishlist: a Heidi Swapp Minc machine and some foils to experiment with.
8. Enjoying: time with my husband before he starts his new job.
9. Favorite quote right now: "Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement." I always like to have an optimistic outlook on things!
10. Smiling about: Spring and all its beauty.
11. My favorite project for the year is...

Probably my Craftsy.com workshop that came out in January! It's called Cards With Dimension: Lovely Layers, Textures and Embellishments.  (Today I'd love to offer you 50% off my class! Just click on the class title link above to get 1/2 off.) I teach tips on working with patterned papers, layering with vellum, choosing and placing embellishments, other ways to add texture and dimension, stitching - hand and machine, and more. You'll see over 70 cards throughout the class. If you'd like to read more about it, you can see my original blog post here. Here are some samples from the class.
Love me some layers!

Now, before I go, a few things...Wilna has graciously offered a freebie for us to share with you, which you can download here.  See image below. She also has a new class with Craftsy titled Fresh Techniques for Artful Layouts. Be sure to check it out, it's fantastic! She's so creative.

And one last thing...I'd like to give away a spot in my Cards With Dimension class!

If you are interested, please leave a note and tell me what you would most like to learn or improve on in your card making or scrapbooking. I'll choose a random winner by May 4th. Have a happy and creative day!

You've Got Mail class and a giveaway...

"You've Got Mail!"
Isn't that the cutest title ever for a card class! Reminds of the days when I first had a computer in my little apartment and loved hearing that little jingle every time I received an email. It was so exciting!
Lisa Spangler and a team of contributors (including me!) have put together a month of card making tips, techniques and inspiration. The class begins March 1st and is $29. You can sign up for the class HERE.

While supplies last, you will receive a free 4x6" clear stamp set! Students will also receive printable accents from Hello Forever, a digital brush of the class stamps and window card, tag and accent from Kinsey Wilson. These will be available in the classroom on March 1st.

This is a peek at the CA-UTE printable accents you receive for free!
WANT TO WIN A SPOT IN THE CLASS?

Studio Calico has generously offered each one of us contributors to give away one seat in the class! Leave a comment here to be entered to win. Comments will be closed 2/8/13 at midnight EST. Thanks!

Hey there, everyone!

I'm back from my fun trip to Masssachusetts! We had a blast and it was so much fun meeting all the nice croppers there at Right at Home Scrapbooking! They were all so welcoming, and I even got to meet a few people that I've chatted on-line with, so much fun! Lisa and Sharon were SO wonderful and accommodating to me...I can't wait to go back again!

Here are a few pics. This is Lisa, one of the store owners (on right) and me on the left.
My sister-in-law on right helping everyone with the hot gluing on the frame. She was a huge help!
Some of the wonderful croppers that we met....
The frame class was a big hit! I'll have to get more photos when I get it back again to share with you. I changed a few things on it and like it better now. Here are the cards we made in the Pink Paislee card class.
You can still purchase the kit I believe if you want one! Just check out the Right at Home link above!

Thanks for stopping in. I'm exhausted and have so much to catch up on, so I'm going to head out and get a few things done. Unfortunately, we are all coming down with some kind of flu (I HOPE it's not the swine flu!!). We have all been feeling sick with a sore throat, headache, and all the other stuff... yuck. Stay healthy out there!
