mum's the word and basket of blessings....

Working on catching up with my August projects, and I have a couple of new things to share with you today. The first one is made with Mum's The Word stamp set and dies, and the Envelope Liner die.

First, I cut out the mums and leaves and stamped them in Scarlet Jewel, Canyon Clay and Melon Berry with Ripe Avocado leaves. Then I attached them to a Classic Kraft piece of cardstock and stamped the stems in Classic Kraft.

I added a tiny bit of red by adding a few Mighty Oak leaves. I love the extra color it adds. Then I stamped the Mum's the Word sentiment in Dark Chocolate. The sentiment is recessed and the rest of the card is popped up for dimension. I used the Envelope Liner die to match the envie to my card! Love how it looks! This works with any A2 sized envelope.

The finished card front is set onto a Soft Stone cardstock base.

My second card is made with Basket of Blessings. I stamped the basket onto white cardstock and then filled it in with all of the little stamps to fill in the flowers. For inks, I used Pure Poppy (red), Harvest Gold (yellow), Spring Moss (light green), Ripe Avocado (dark green) and Canyon Clay (orange).
The large text stamp is done with Classic Kraft ink and then I used Dark Chocolate ink for the "Grateful" over the top. Love the layered look of the text!

The button at the top was handmade by me with PaperClay (tutorial here) and stamped with Background Basics: Woodgrain. I just adore these two stamp sets! I'll be back with more soon, thanks so much for swinging by.

orange, hot pink and a touch of gold...

Need inspiration today? How about a color challenge. Pink Paislee has a beautiful Color Crush image on the Pink Paislee blog, and the team is playing along in the challenge. I thought I'd make a card just for fun with it - with oranges, hot pinks and even a touch of gold.

I used the Artisan papers by Pink Paislee with some stamping inks by Papertrey Ink to make the big flower. All I did was swipe the ink pad over the papers, and it brings out this gorgeous embossing that's already on the paper. I used the Notched Flower dies to cut the flower layers and the Turning a New Leaf die to cut the leaves out of the Artisan paper after it was inked. The ink colors I used were: Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise and Ripe Avocado.

I placed a circle under the flower from the Artisan Circles and some twine. For the bottom, I stamped a Sentiment Series: Scallop Symbols (a new stamp set by Pink Paislee) trimmed it out and placed it under the white cardstock. The Thank You sentiment is from Mums The Word. The whole card front was placed onto a Luxe gold striped paper.
Are you going to play along in the challenge? Link me up if you do, I'm anxious to see what you'll do with this.
