A journaling card mini album...

Good morning! The March kits are up for sale at Jenni Bowlin! Stop by to see what everyone has created so far here in the Mercantile Gallery. Anabelle O'Malley is the guest designer this month and her creations are outta this world! She's one of my favorite designers. There will be more ideas in the gallery on March 10th, so check back!

This kits are totally packed with the new JBS goodies! Here I put the new Springtime journaling cards together with the Homespun journaling cards to create a mini album of our Easter photos from last year! I added 16 little photos from that day and printed them out myself at home. I used Photoshop to resize them about 2.5 inches high to fit nicely on the journaling cards!

To create the green part of the flower, I cut a strip of 12" green cardstock about an inch wide. I punched one side of it with Martha Stewart's Doily Lace Edge punch, then folded it every 1/2 inch or so and twisted it into a circle shape and adhered it down to a circle sticker from the kit. The crepe paper was twisted into a flower and attached on top. It's fun to mix up using the journaling cards as photo holders and for journaling.

I used the chipboard frame on the back page with one of the mini papers. I thought it would give a nice base to my book.

When I put the pages together, I staggered them for a messier look, so you could see all the cute pages sticking out. Then punched them with the Crop-a-dile.

If you'd like to see ALL of the inside pages and photos that were added inside the mini book, go here to my 2 Peas gallery. Just easier for me that way, than to load them all up here again!
________________

The next page is a birthday page from Kati's 4th birthday last summer. I chose 2 photos that were some of my faves. I wanted to do something fun with the banner pieces, so decided to use them for my journaling. I printed out the journaling on vellum and layered it over the chipboard banners.

Did you notice the title? It's paint! I wanted to try painting my title, like Julie does so well. She really inspires me. I wasn't sure I liked it when I was done, and the OCD in me told me it's crooked and not perfect. It's not centered. But...it was definitely fun to try something new!

The background is an embossed cardstock from the kit. I sprayed it with Lemon Zest Glimmer Mist from my stash and then sanded the raised parts with sandpaper.
