Vintage linens...

Today is our third group blog post for Papertrey Ink's July countdown! We are previewing a couple of new stamp sets and dies: Vintage Linens and Embroidered Borders, both of which I loved working with! The new products will be available at Papertrey Ink on 7/15 at 10pm EST.
First, I selected a photo that inspired me. The little flowers caught my eye, especially the blue ones, which you'll see in the second card.

The first card was more simple. I used one of the Vintage Linen papers in the background, then stamped and die cut the flowers to add over the top.
The sentiment is from a new set called Perfect Pairing.

Thinking of You card:
STAMPS: Vintage Linens, Perfect Pairing
INK: New Leaf, Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy
PAPER: Vintage Linens
DIES: Vintage Linens
OTHER: sequins by Pretty Pink Posh.

The second card uses a few more layers. I stamped the background in black with the outline stamps of the flowers.

"Just Because" is from a new stamp set called Keep It Simple: Just Because.
The frame is die cut and stamped with Embroidered Borders. Really loved working with these products and have quite a few more ideas to use them with!

Just Because card:

Calling all bibliophiles...

We are back with group post #2 at Papertrey Ink for the month of July to show you some new book-related products that will be available July 15th at 10pm EST at www.papertreyink.com.

I was inspired by this bookshelf quilt I found on Pinterest and thought the books would be cute on a teacher card! So I added the Apple Prints stamps and dies in with the new book themed stamps and dies. On one of the cards, I used the books horizontally and the other vertically.
On this card, I used the different sentiments on several books to create one big message. Such a cute set of stamps! I really like this idea. Fun way to add lots of color on the differing books.

A Favorite Book card:
(All products by Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted.)
STAMPS: Bibliophile, Background Basics: Twinkle, Apple Prints
INK: Tropical Teal, Pure Poppy, Simply Chartreuse, True Black, Summer Sunrise

DIES: Bibliophile
OTHER: twine - The Twinery, sequin - Pretty Pink Posh.

Couple of pics of the card set.
I read the directions wrong and was supposed to make a card with the Book Cover Card dies... ooops! Sorry!!

Think I like the vertical books the best. They look more like books. What do you think?

Stamping patchwork...

Well, hello there. My friend Claudia came over last weekend, and we were able to do some stamping and card making! So I decided to make a few things with the Quilted: Summer stamp set and dies by Papertrey Ink just for fun. I am a quilter at heart, so I just love this set and the fun patterns you can make with it. The design for these cards was originally by Betsy, which you can see in this post. I just used some different colors, added a little bit of Enchanted Evening, a pretty navy blue. Love how it looks with the Aqua Mist and Pure Poppy.

The red borders were stamped with a little dash line from Quilted: Summer. I think it was meant to be a stick for the pinwheel, but it sure looks cute as a border also!
Ended up making 3 of these with different sentiments and just love how they turned out! I've used different sentiments on each. "Just because" is from the Scripted stamp set. "Warmest thanks" is from Bloomers.

The "sunshine" sentiment is from Quilted: Summer.

These were quite easy to do after I had the first one done and could copy where all of the colors would go. The trick for me was to start with the aqua one in the top center. That way I could center the triangles on the card quite easily. Added some twine and a flower die cut from Quilted: Summer. Might have to make more of these for little card sets!

You might have noticed at the top of my blog, I've started a "SHOP" link. Be on the look out for some cards for sale soon! :) Bye for now!

Quilted: Summer cards:

INK: Aqua Mist, Enchanted Evening, Summer Sunrise, Pure Poppy, Simply Chartreuse by PTI; Soft Granite by Hero Arts

OTHER: twine.
