Quilted...

I love the quilted look and am a quilter myself, so I thought it would be fun to bring this look to a card again for today's Scrapbook Expo cardmaking post! I grabbed the Quilted: Summer stamps and dies to make my card. It came together so quickly, just love this set!
First, I die cut the frame and stamped all of the fun triangles! I left some of them white to make it look like a pinwheel. You could also take the frame off and just use the pinwheel, with a stamped stem using the stripe in the stamp set! I die cut a flower and stamped it also.
Then I attached these pieces to a white card base, added the flower over the top. The larger pinwheel pieces are popped up with dimensional adhesive.

The Scripted stamps were used for a sentiment at the bottom.

Hop over to the Scrapbook Expo post to read more about this card. Happy "almost" summer!

Inspiration By the Sea...

Welcome back PTI friends! I'm happy to be back this month to show you a few new products coming out this month on June 15th at Papertrey Ink. First up, we have a new stamp set and dies called Guiding Light, which I used on the lighthouse and for the sentiment.
The background was cut with a new Cover Plate called Waves. I cut two of these, one from Aqua Mist cardstock and one from Hawaiian Shores cardstock to create different wave colors and add a little bit more interest in the background. I just removed some of the Aqua Mist waves and replaced them with Hawaiian Shores waves.

Here is the inside of the card.
I used a new stamp set called Ahoy (waves) and one called Light of Life (sentiment).

Guiding Light card:
(All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted.)
STAMPS: Guiding Light
INK: Aqua Mist, Enchanted Evening
PAPER: Pure Poppy Pattern Pack, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Rustic White
DIES: Cover Plate: Waves, Guiding Light
OTHER: twine - The Twinery, sequins - Fancy Pants.
______

On the next card, I used the Ahoy stamp set and dies. And for the "Many blessings" sentiment, I used the new Scripted dies. Wouldn't this be darling for the birth of a baby boy?

The background was made by tapping ink pads onto a stamping block and spritzing the block with water...then "stamping" the block onto the paper. Love how it adds color and interest to the background instead of a plain white background.

Many Blessings card:
(All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted.)
STAMPS: Ahoy
INK: Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Enchanted Evening, Pure Poppy
PAPER: Aqua Mist, Rustic White
DIES: Ahoy, Scripted
OTHER: sequin - Pretty Pink Posh.
______

All of the new products you see here will be available on June 15th at 10pm EST at Papertrey Ink! Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to visit the other gals to see what they've made with the same products!

SCT summer issue is here!

Scrapbook and Cards Today magazine has a new issue out right now, and it's free - stop over to get your copy of the current issue! I was asked to participate in the "3 Designer challenge" on page 16. We were all sent the same supplies...American Crafts papers, Ormolu flair buttons, Maya Road butterfly flags, Bazzill cardstock, Queen and Company goosebump gems, a Stampin' Up! butterfly punch and some fun Bella Blvd stickers!

I went crazy with the stickers and created a list of some of the things we love about summer in a rainbow pattern with the colors.
Because the left side of the layout was so busy, I kept the right side of the page to a minimum...journaling and a picture of my daughter Taylor with her friend from our neighborhood. They had just gotten out of the pool that day (a few years ago) and I quick took a snapshot!

I do have an extra hard copy of the magazine to give away, so leave me a note if you are interested, and I'll choose a random winner soon. :)
ONE more fun thing to share with you today...

Lily Bee Designs has a brand new look! Check out their new blog here: www.lilybee.typepad.com. And join us all this week for inspiration, sneak peeks and giveaways.

Celebrate summer...

One of our favorite things to do in the summer is our annual visit to the ocean, so I thought I would scrapbook a couple of pictures of Kati at the beach! (Stars work for anything, don't they? So versatile.)
I used Pink Paislee's Declaration line for my page. I love how these Pink Paislee Wood Shop alphas have a natural wood color to them and are just pretty just plain like that with the reds and blues in the Declaration line.
I used the banner stickers to create a star and then covered up the messy center where the flags came together with a cut out from the Pinwheels paper.
Now for the fun part - you can download a PDF with a ton of ideas using this line by the Pink Paislee team right HERE! And guess what? It's FREE!  Enjoy!

Recently, I was inspired by this image I found on Pinterest by Heather Bullard. I loved the teal of the bucket with the brown on the crate, so I was excited to incorporate those two colors into a springy, flowery card - complete with a little bucket full of flowers just like the inspiration piece...

Let me show you how I made this card with the Garden Variety stamps and dies by Papertrey Ink. I also used the Seed Packet die (envelope) and the Seed Packet Frame die.
First, I used the Seed Packet die to cut the little envelope, folded it and adhered the flaps.

Next is the Seed Packet Frame. I cut a white center out also to stamp the tiny stems and flowers from the Garden Variety stamp set. I used Berry Sorbet for the flowers and Simply Chartreuse for the stems, also added some Vintage Cream ink around the edges to soften the white a bit.

I cut the tools and bucket out, then stamped them with Classic Kraft ink and Aqua Mist ink. Some of the edges were inked with Vintage Cream ink to tone down the white edges.
Here are all the little parts before the card was assembled. I found a Crate Paper die cut flower I thought I'd use. I stamped the "Farm Home" from the Garden Variety set with Dark Chocolate ink and cut it out.

Now the seed packet is assembled with all of its little parts... I popped the frame and bucket up with dimensional adhesive.
Now I need to add a base to my card. Using the Pinterest inspiration piece, I liked the brown color of the crate that the bucket of flowers was sitting on, so I used kraft cardstock for the background. I used Fresh Snow ink to stamp some little mini flowers on the kraft paper to add depth to my card. Then I added a Classic Kraft button and twine. Last is the finished seed packet on top.
I adhered the tools inside the pocket, but you could add money or a gift card to a nursery for your favorite gardener. Or you could add a tag with a saying inside the pocket as well. So many uses for this pocket!
We are finished!

This one was SO much fun to make.  I used the Spiral Notebook die with kraft paper, then combined 2 new stamp sets, the Congrats All Ways and Tag-its #6. Love how it turned out!

I used the scraps to create a card also. These are the Flower Fusion #6 stamps! I am in love with the plaid leaves.
