Make It Market: Party Pops...

The next Make It Market Kit for Papertrey Ink will be released on April 1st and it is entitled "Party Pops".  Betsy has once again outdone herself!  Party Pops is all about interactive birthday cards, tags, favors, gift wrap, decor and anything else you can dream up!  Just wait until you see these dies!  They provide several options for creating different types of interactive cards — pop-ups, lift-the-flap, and SO much more! These could potentially be THE most innovative products that Betsy has designed to date!  She has even invented some clever tools to turn colorful cupcake wrappers into works of art.  If there was ever a kit you didn't want to miss out on, it would be this one! Pop over to Nichole Heady's blog to watch all the videos on how these dies work.

Here are a few samples I created with the kit. Up first, I used the scalloped die as my card base with Aqua Mist cardstock. The white piece is cut from the liner die. Then instead of using the liner die on the INSIDE of the card like it was meant to be used, I used it on the outside of my card, so I could cut out the balloons from it and pop them up. I wanted to do a bit of colorful stamping on the front with the stamps in the kit. All of the pretty colors on the front of this card are stamped except the teal border on the bottom - cut from one of the patterned papers in the kit.

The balloons are cut with a die that doesn't cut the bottom, so you can pop them up and they are still intact on your card. The balloons were die cut out of the white piece before folding it in half and sliding it over the top of the card base. The banner is cut with Sweet Blush cardstock and stamped with Pure Poppy ink, then popped up with dimensional adhesive.

Next, I wanted to point out that there are some beautiful pre-made patterned papers in the kit! I've used them here as table decor. By using the dies, you can cut out portions of the pre-made papers and pop them up for decor for your birthday table! (Or fold on the dotted line and add them to the inside of a card.)

You can use the little cupcake holders from the kit as treat holders to place around the table like I did here. And notice the little die cut confetti? SO, so cute!

Here is one more card made with the scalloped die, and I used the cupcake die that doesn't cut at the top to partially cut out the cupcake to reveal a message underneath. "Lift here" is stamped in black on the flap.

The scalloped front was cut from white cardstock and added to a white background. I wanted the cupcake to be the focal point. Added a strip of paper to the top from the kit. (Twine is from my stash.) I stamped the birthday sentiment and cupcake.

When you life the flap on the front of the card, underneath the cupcake top is another celebrate stamp that I stamped on another piece of paper and added it underneath before adhering to the card front... "eat cake and celebrate".

Last I made just a simple, SUPER quick flower banner with the cupcake liners! There's a die that cuts the leaf shapes you see here behind the flowers. You fold the cupcake liners in half and place the die on top, run it through your cutting machine, and voila! You have an easy and quick floral banner for a party that's full of color!
The cupcake liners were layered on top of each other for more color. (I turned them inside out, because the colorful part is always on the outside of the liner.) In between the layers is a punched circle from white cardstock. That way the liners hold their true colors and don't blend in with the liners behind them.
Literally, this took minutes to make. You could hang little sayings or banners in between the flowers to personalize it for a party.

There is a limited number of these exclusive kits, so be sure to get yours on Wednesday! The "Party Pops" kit will be for sale beginning April 1st at 10pm EST only at Papertrey Ink. Read all the details for supplies included in the kit and cost at Nichole Heady's blog or contact customer service with any questions.

Well, I hope you can see how colorful and fun this kit is! This is just the tip of the iceberg! Stop over to the other Make It Market gals to see more: Nichole, BetsyMelissaHeather and our newest team member, Lea Lawson! Sending a big welcome to Lea!

Release Day: December...

The Papertrey Ink team is back to show you some more new stamps and dies being released this month! They'll all be released tonight at 10 pm EST. First up is the Drips & Dribbles stamp set. I used the coffee rings as O's for my XO cards!
I stamped the O's where I wanted them first with Raspberry Fizz ink, then I used a paintbrush with Raspberry Fizz reinker and some water and painted on matching X's. I also used Love You to Pieces: Additions stamps and Keep It Simple: Valentine stamps. You could stamp this XO pattern onto white wrapping paper and wrap gifts with it, how cute would that be. Maybe tape a candy onto the back of these XO cards for little school Valentines!

The die for this house was in the Tinsel & Tags Trimmings kit. Here I just used the stamps with Sweet Blush, Classic Kraft and Scarlet Jewel inks.

This card is made with Love Notes. Can't wait to give this to my mom and dad for their 44th anniversary in a few days! They are definitely an inspiration to my brother and I.
On this card, I used the same watercolor pencil technique you saw in my video a couple of days ago. This time I used orange, yellow and green pencils, and I put more water on my flowers to allow them to spread out a bit. You'll want to let them dry before you think you need to add more water, because they do spread out as they dry and will look different in about 15 minutes! Don't add too much right away. I added polkadots with my yellow pencil, then colored in the center of the card with yellow, let it dry, and after it was dry, stamped the sentiment with Love Notes.
Your Love Is An Inspiration card:
(All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted.)
STAMPS: Love Notes
INK: True Black; Soft Granite by Hero Arts
PAPER: Watercolor paper, Summer Sunrise cardstock
DIES: none
OTHER: watercolor pencils in orange, yellow and green.
______

The next two cards were made with Block Party. Some backgrounds and patterns were created with the blocks.
The colorful strip was popped up with pop dots for dimension.
Thanks for Building Me Up card:
(All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted.)
STAMPS: Block Party
INK: Pure Poppy, Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise, New Leaf, Tropical Teal,
Aqua Mist, Sweet Blush
PAPER: Aqua Mist and White cardstock

Another one made with Block Party, using the scallop block as a party banner.
Added a little hanging tag with a sentiment from the same set.

Soft Granite by Hero Arts
PAPER: white cardstock
DIES: none
OTHER: twine, staple.
______

Next is a Valentine card made with Little Human. I die cut the pieces, stamped them and added them to one of Betsy's Love You to Pieces papers.
This one cracks me up, because Kati used to say this when she was little, "My heart is BEEPING!" Oh, I miss those times when my kids were little and the cute things they used to say!
My Heart Beeps Only For You card:
(All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted.)
STAMPS: Little Human
INK: Pure Poppy, Enchanted Evening; Soft Granite by Hero Arts
PAPER: Love You to Pieces: Airplane, white cardstock
DIES: Little Human
OTHER: washi tape.
______

On this next card with the heart flowers, I used the new Hello There stamps along with Type Strips II (you). I punched 2" circles, then die cut the hearts out of the centers with Hello There dies.
A couple of the hearts were backed with patterned papers, and the largest one is stamped. The Hello There stamps were used to stamp "love" repeatedly onto the circles as well.
 Love You card:
(All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted.)
STAMPS: Hello There, Type Strips II
INK: True Black, Aqua Mist; Soft Granite by Hero Arts
PAPER: White cardstock, Tropical Teal Pattern Pack, Pure Poppy Pattern Pack

Last up is Give Me A Hand. I cut a slit in between the fingers and thumb to hold a heart.

November kits at Gossamer Blue...

The Gossamer Blue kits for November are now available, and they are a beautiful mix of Heidi Swapp's new September Skies line, Maggie Holmes' new Open Book collection, special one-of-a-kind pieces by Gossamer Blue and more! I'll show you a few things I made with the kits...
This first card is made with the November main kit only. I did add some seam binding from my stash to string up the tags, then cut out the word with a die by Papertrey Ink called Wonderful Words: Congrats from one of the papers in the main kit. The background is cut with a Card Base-ics #2 die by Papertrey Ink.
The next few cards were made with a mixture of the November kits. Papers are from the main kit. The banner is from the Ephemera pack and the rub on is from the Open Book rub ons!

On this one, I really liked the floral paper in the main kit, but didn't want to cut it up into little pieces. Then you can't see all of the pretty colors and patterns in it! This paper was pretty just as is! So I decided to keep a whole panel of it, and just die cut a butterfly from the paper, then placed it back in and just popped up the wings with foam adhesive.

Last, but not least, a really quick card set, which was inspired by the logo on the Maggie Holmes Open Book packaging! Notice the double ended banners? I trimmed my paper to resemble the banners in her logo and placed them a little off-kilter, so you could see all of the pretty colors and patterns stacked on top of each other.

The papers I used here were all from the main kit, then I used the pre-made banners and the stamp set by Heidi Swapp from one of the add-ons! The butterflies were cut with the Beautiful Butterflies dies by Papertrey Ink.

Please do check out the Gossamer Blue kits, they are so pretty! And there is nothing to lose - if you decide to stop your subscription to the kits, there is no cancellation fee. I just think the kits at Gossamer Blue are beautiful and so inspiring! I would have liked to make a TON more, if only my time would allow this month. Can't wait to tell you about my next venture I'm currently working on, but I'm busy, busy trying to get it all accomplished...what a month! I'll have a card tutorial coming on November 11th made with these kits also. Thank you for reading and taking the time to stop by, sweet friends... xo

release day...

Papertrey Ink, my very favorite stamping company, has a ton of new products available this month tonight at 10pm EST. Here are a few more things I made with them. See the previous two posts for more! This card was made with It's a Banner Day and Cupid's Arrow stamp sets.

I stamped the floral background with a stamp from It's a Banner Day in Harvest Gold and added the arrow stamps over the top from Cupid's arrow, then a few stickers and paper at the top by Crate Paper. The black heart is stamped with Happy Hearts. The sentiment is from It's a Banner Day also.

STAMPS: It's a Banner Day, Cupid's Arrow, Happy Hearts
INK: Harvest Gold and True Black by PTI, Soft Granite by Hero Arts
PAPER: Rustic White

______

This is Heart Squared stamps and Wonderful Words: Love stamps and die. Also added the big hearts, which are cut with Cover Plate: Hearts die.

The center one is stamped with the Happy Hearts stamps. The heart square stamp was inked with Harvest Gold on the bottom, then Sweet Blush in the center and Raspberry Fizz at the top, then I stamped it onto the card...love the ombre effect. I cut white cardstock hearts and vellum hearts and layered them, then stitched them with my machine and folded the vellum up to stand up off the card. Gives it an airy feel.

STAMPS: Heart Squared, Wonderful Words: Love, Happy Hearts
INK: Raspberry Fizz, Sweet Blush, Harvest Gold
PAPER: white
DIES: Cover Plate: Hearts die, Wonderful Words: Love die
OTHER: enamel dot, patterned paper by Crate Paper.

DIES: One Liners, Boutique Borders: Valentine

Round Repeats...

We're back with another Papertrey Ink group blog post to share peeks of a new stamp set called Round Repeats. You'll have so much fun with this one, I promise you! There are several stamps in this set, just waiting for your creativity to be unleashed. :)

On the first card, I kept it simple and used the stamps to create a fun border around the sentiment. Very simple and quick card, one layer. Well, technically it's a two layer with the card front added to the base. :)

I started with the Raspberry Fizz ink in the corners, then added the Summer Sunrise ones. Last, Sweet Blush ink fills in the centers. I used a Boutique Borders: Thanks sentiment and frame.

Sending Sincere Thanks card:
STAMPS: Round Repeats, Boutique Borders: Thanks
INK: Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise, Sweet Blush, True Black
PAPER: White, Harvest Gold
DIES: none
OTHER: none.

--------

After making a border, I wanted to try stamping these Round Repeats in a pattern to create a focal point. I made a flower with them by stamping them 4 times in a circle with Summer Sunrise ink. I popped the finished flower up over two Bountiful Banner die cuts. (I made two die banner cuts, one for each side of the flower in Raspberry Fizz ink, something different than the typical green leaves!)
I used Background Basics: Text Style in Fresh Snow ink on Classic Kraft cardstock. A sentiment finishes it off from the new Bigger Blooms stamp set!

I was out of brown cardstock, so I found a chocolate colored tag in my stash from Creative Cafe (remember them?) and trimmed it down to fit with my card.

You're Sweet card:
STAMPS: Round Repeats, Background Basics: Text, Bountiful Banners, Bigger Bloosm (sentiment)
INK: Fresh Snow, Dark Chocolate, Summer Sunrise, Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy
PAPER: Classic Kraft, Harvest Gold
DIES: Bountiful Banners
OTHER: tag from my stash from Creative Cafe, twine.

--------

Last, I stamped white on white and heat embossed the Round Repeats flowers that I made. After cool, I inked over them with a Vintage Cream ink to set them off slightly from the white cardstock. They would work as snowflakes as well on a holiday card, but I decided to go with a birthday card instead this time. I made another large flower with another one of the Round Repeats with Hawaiian Shores ink, cut it out and added a Bountiful Banner over the top. Sentiment is from the new Bigger Blooms.

If you used a more elegant flower and color scheme, instead of a playful look like I have here, this would make a nice wedding card also with the embossed background.
Best Day Ever card:
STAMPS: Round Repeats, Bountiful Banners, Bigger Blooms
INK: Hawaiian Shores, Raspberry Fizz, Vintage Cream
PAPER: white, Harvest Gold, Aqua Mist
DIES: Bountiful Banners
OTHER: butterfly punch, seam binding, white embossing powder, corner rounder.
