Monthly Moments: December...

This month on Dec. 15th, Papertrey Ink will be releasing it's Monthly Moments collection for December! It comes with a paper pad of December journal cards, a stamp set, a December word die and a Journal Card 7 die. Or you can choose to purchase the items separately. Here's a little look at a "December Daily" journal that I started with these products.
On the front cover,  I used one of the Journal Cards and dressed it up with a few layers, a pipe cleaner candy cane, sequins, fine glitter, a strip of washi tape (stripe) and some stamping with the Dec. stamps (Dec 25). Pretty easy, yet the layers add so much depth to the design!
The paper snowflakes I used under the corners of the cover were found in a package at Michaels...of course, you could cut your own, but I really like how the roundness of the snowflakes soften the look of the front cover's corners!
Using the Monthly Moments: December stamps, I dressed up this "Dear Santa" page that I made to create a place where the kiddos could write their letters to Santa, or you could simply attach their letters behind this card with a few notes on here about their wish lists.
I also used the Postmarks stamps ("handle with care" and the wavy lines) in addition to the Monthly Moments: December stamps.
Here I attached another snowflake to a white piece of cardstock, made a little stamped banner and attached a candy cane with a piece of washi tape. Added some stamping and a tab on the right of the page.
A page for gathering around the Christmas tree using the die cuts and stamps...
Next is a page that I created with the Monthly Moments: Journal Card 7 die. I turned it into a pocket by cutting two of them, one from white cardstock that I stamped with snowflakes, and the front is cut from an acrylic sheet. (The sheets the stamps come on). Then I stitched the front and back together, added sequins inside and some stamping to decorate the front. Last, a tiny bit of fine glitter to the front to make it more magical.
Added more stamping to this one with some snowflake backgrounds and a few of the sayings! The candy behind the "merry" is stamped with Candy Cane Christmas.
Last, I thought it would be fun to include a page(s) for documenting special holiday baking recipes. I used a real recipe card as my base and added a notebook edge and washi tape at the top with a snowflake Journal Card in the background. You can add as many recipes inside as you'd like by just poking holes and tucking them onto the ring of the album. Wouldn't it be fun to have a photo with each recipe?

So lovely. The shaker pocket is everything you could want Christmas to be. Who but you would think of glittering the outside of the shaker?!!
